Dear brothers in Christ:

May the Lord bless your lives and your families’.

I am really encouraged in seeing what the Lord is doing. Many people are writing every day telling us the great things God has accomplished in their lives. Every day we pray for wisdom from the Lord to help our brothers in different countries. People write us and tell us about the amazing things the Lord has taught them.

The HeartCry conference on the Sufficiency of Scripture was a blessing not only in my life but in the lives of many pastors and people who came from different parts of Peru. We rejoice greatly because of what the Lord did during this time. This is an amazing topic and I am really thankful for this opportunity. I preached on two topics: “The Sufficiency of Scriptures in Sanctification” and “The Sufficiency of Scripture in teaching”. The Lord gave me wisdom to proclaim His gospel and His Word.

Brothers from different parts of Peru came to the conference
. There were 10 brothers from a place named Cotahuasi, a well-known canyon, the deepest in all of the world, which is 28 hours away from Lima, the main city of Peru, where the Church of the Savior is located. We saw a lot of effort in these brothers in coming from such a faraway land. Praise be to God for such people who are hungry and thirsty for righteousness. Please pray for them. We have a great burden in our hearts for them, to help them to take the gospel to the remote places there in Cotahuasi. They have Bible institute classes every two months there, and they invited us to go to there to teach them about the Gospel and the doctrines of grace. We ask your prayers on our behalf because we want to help them in this amazing and great commission of preaching the Gospel to every nation.

I want to thank God for a guy named  Luis Alberto. He is a twenty-four-year-old young man who has gone to church since he was twelve years old. He was always listening to the gospel but he was stubborn. He was doing a lot of bad things during this time and his life was not showing true fruit of repentance and faith. He was in jail for robbery and when he was there some brothers went to visit him, to preach the gospel to him. He had a false security and told them he was a true believer because he prayed a prayer once. But the Lord showed him that he wasn’t living as a true believer and he realized his true condition and came to the Lord in repentance and faith and we glorify the Lord for these things HE did in Alberto’s life. We pray that the Lord would give him wisdom and guidance and preserve him until His kingdom comes in Glory. Please pray for his life and for the Lord to keep him faithful to His Word.

Luis is learning more about doctrine now and is coming to the Institutes’ classes every Tuesday. He is studying greek too in a seminary called “Seminario Evangélico de Lima” (SEL) here in Lima. I praise the Lord for his life, because I can see God’s work in his life and all the glory is for the Lord, for His gifts of repentance and faith. I say these things not to exalt Luis Alberto, but to exalt the Supremacy of the Lord in changing a man and bringing him from darkness to light, from the world to the kingdom of heaven, from Satan to God, from enmity to friendship, from death to life. What a great joy in seeing God’s work in many people who were once blind but now see!!

Please pray for the work in South Americ
a through HeartCry and we are really thankful for the amazing things the Lord is doing among us and for using us to advance the Kingdom of God.

Next Monday pastor Martin and I are going to Colombia to minister there among some brothers who are really encouraged by the Gospel and doctrine. These brothers are working out all of the arrangements and they have even borrowed a meeting place from a group of Presbyterian brothers who are in Bogota, the main city of Colombia.

The Lord put a great burden on our hearts to go to Colombia to minister there
. We went to the Lord in prayer and seeking His perfect and sovereign will in this issue and the Lord was good to us and to our brothers in Colombia. They were praying too at the same time and the Lord directed us to pray for the same prayer request and we can see the good hand of our good God behind all this in working out the details for us to be able to make the trip.

We are going to spend 13 days there having meetings with pastors and missionaries. We will have sessions in the afternoons and at night too. The first week, we are going to be teaching on Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. We are teaching about “On Knowing God: His importance”, “The Holiness of God: His Character, Sovereignty, Decrees and Attributes”, “The Work of Christ in us”, “The work of man: sin and humanism”, “Justification, Regeneration”, “The True Gospel and Evangelism”, “God is the Gospel”, and other issues.

The second week we are going to teach on the same days too. God willing, we are going to go to preach at the central park every day in the afternoon from 2:00 to 5:00 PM. Pray that the Lord uses us with a demonstration of his power and Spirit. On September 18th we will have a meeting at the house of a pastor and probably we are going to be able to have communion with most of the like minded pastors of Bogota. Six or seven people are coming from Medellin, which is a city 9 or 10 hours away from Bogota.

Please continue praying for our youth meetings. We continue teaching in an exegetical way through the book of Hebrews and it has been a tremendous blessing for my life and for youth’s lives. I am really thankful to the Lord for this group of young people and I can say with great confidence and joy in the Lord that our great and glorious God has given us a good group of youth and they are growing in their knowledge of the Scriptures and in grace in the Lord. I am really, really thankful for this and my heart is full of joy and gratitude to my Lord and God, hoping the Lord will continue giving me wisdom and grace to keep sharing with them the amazing things that are in Scriptures. It has been a blessing and I have never seen a group of young people who share their faith with boldness and confidence in the Lord. What a great joy to see God’s work in their hearts!!! As I teach them the word I remember the words of the preacher: “Remember also your Creator in the days of your youth”. Please pray for these people, for the Lord to sustain, preserve and persevere His work in them, until the day of the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Last month, a group of youths came to Church in Barranco. They had been looking for a true, Biblical Church, but they couldn’t find one. So they were checking some web pages out on the internet and the Lord guided them to the Church of the Savior in Barranco. They wanted to learn more about the Lord, the true Gospel and the doctrines of Grace. Rogelio Acea is having some meetings with them in his house, doing discipleship with them and teaching them about the character of Christ. Pray for these youth, for the Lord to use them to take the Gospel to the most isolated parts of Peru and the world.

People continue writing and calling us to know and learn more about the true gospel and doctrine. Most of them can’t even find a true and biblical church in the place where they live. We pray for the Lord to give us wisdom to help them in their spiritual seeking of our God and Savior Jesus Christ.

Please pray for my life and for God to enlighten me through His mighty Spirit and for my heart to be able to understand His Word and the amazing truth of the Gospel of our Lord Jesus. God is the Gospel and this is an amazing truth. Pray for God to strengthen my life more and more through His Word and Holy Spirit. May the Son Of God receive the full reward for His suffering.

I am really, really thankful to the Lord and people who are giving through HeartCry to support missionaries here in Peru and throughout the world. My gratitude to the Lord and many, many thanks to those of you who are supporting this ministry.

May our Lord and Savior bless your lives and your families’. May God be praised and His Name be glorified.

In Jesus Christ,

Your brother and friend,

Walter I.
