Beloved Brothers, It is a joy to be able to greet you in the love of Christ. The month of June, up to the time of the writing of this report, has been a great blessing for us. We continued to meet in the home of a sister named Cipriana. We have not yet begun to meet at the home of Humberto because we still need to fix it up. With regard to a literacy program that I have mentioned previously; we have postponed it for a date yet to be determined. Those who expressed interest in the program work most of the day. For the moment there doesn't seem to be a good time to have the classes. We had our conference "Free Will-A Slave." It was a great blessing for all who attended. It was simply an in-house conference at the church; I am the one who did the teaching. There were many questions from our church members and from the guests who attended. I noticed that most of those who attended were convinced by the Word of God that unless the Father draws sinners to Christ, none will be saved from eternal condemnation. The conclusion that we saw was that believers, by the grace of God, are saved and are slaves of God. Unbelievers are slaves to sin. Violence has been on the rise in our neighborhood. Three weeks ago the local police began to search for three gang members who were robbing people on the street corner. About 50 people who live in our neighborhood helped the police. Finally they found the gang members. Pray that the people and the Lord would have mercy on these three young men. May God also protect us from evil. A Testimony On June 26th God gave me the opportunity to preach at a funeral. There were about 30 people there who were the family members and neighbors of the deceased. At first some of them did not really want us to be there. However, one of the neighbors of the deceased, who is a believer, introduced to the children of the deceased. They asked us to share with the group, so I immediately began to preach from Psalm 145. I shared about the goodness of God. He opens his hand and pours out blessings on every living thing. God is slow to anger and is very merciful. He is patient with all, not wanting any to perish. But, I explained to them but that we human beings have forgotten God. We follow our own traditions but we don't follow the principles of the Word of God. Every one in attendance was very attentive to the message. There was a great deal of sadness on the part of the family members. I continued preaching. I pointed out as an example of how we have forgotten God that we don't give him thanks. We think that it is by our own strength that we are able to work. We are proud. We believe that we are righteous because we compare ourselves to delinquents and drug-addicts. I went on to share some about the depravity of man and to plead with the people to repent and to call on the Lord. Five of the people in attendance indicated a desire to do this. Prayer Requests: -For spiritual growth and good health for our church members -For the Lord to lead us to a more permanent meeting place -For a brother named Florencio who is preparing for the ministry -For a neighbor named Cristina; her husband is a drunk and he won't let her come to church. We have tried to find him in order to be able to share the gospel with him, but we have yet to be able to find him. -That God would send laborers to Tarco-Ayacucho (where many of our church members are from) Once more I want to thank HeartCry for the support that you send and for your prayers. I also want to thank you for providing the Bible Institute classes at the church in Barranco. Please pray that the Lord would continue to open doors for us to preach the gospel. In Christ, Miguel Sa.
