Beloved Brothers,

I greet you in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ to whom we belong and whom we serve with joy in our hearts. We desire for you all God’s richest blessings in your lives, families, and ministries.

In this report I would like to inform you about my work in the month of April:

During this month I have been doing the tasks that have been assigned to me in the church. I am responsible to lead the couple’s meeting, the men’s meeting, and the family counseling. I have also been visiting the brothers who are going through different trials in order to encourage them and to inspire them to trust in the Lord in the midst of their challenging circumstances. Rosa has cancer. Eugenio has cancer. Miguel is going through some financial problems and some health problems. Please pray for these brothers.

Also during this last month I was charged with leading the church while Pastor Martin Z. was away on a mission trip in Tumbes. He went at the request of the brothers there in order to teach pastors and church leaders. While he was gone I taught and preached at all of the different meetings of the church. I am also participating in the Bible Institute classes that we are having on Tuesdays here at our church.

In the prison ministry that I am involved in two things happened this month that filled me with joy. First, one of the prisoners named Julian, who is one of the ones that we have worked with since beginning our ministry in the prison and who has given evidence that the Lord has transformed his life, approached us and he was very concerned. He was concerned because he had been meditating for some time about his past life. He felt very bad because he had been thinking of all of the ways that he had failed God and in spite of this God gave his Son in order to take the punishment that he (Julian) deserved. At this moment what I saw in him was a broken man who recognized how much God loved him and had given him what he did not deserve.

The other thing that made me rejoice came through a prisoner named Richard. He has not been in the prison for long and he considers that he is there unjustly. I approached him and I listened to him. Then I began to counsel him and to explain to him who God is. I explained to him that all of our problems derive from our sinful condition and that we should repent because we have sinned against God and that we should believe in Christ. We should believe that Christ was punished in our place and that he was raised on the third day in order to give us life by his grace.

This prisoner gave me the impression that he had believed the gospel. He also committed to be a part of our Bible studies. Please pray that the Lord would work in his life and that we would see fruit.

I am grateful for your prayers and your support.
