Dear Fellow Servants, My family and I greet you praying that the Lord would continue to uphold you with his grace and peace. We are struggling here, although with joy, to experience the protection, provision, and guidance of the Lord in our work in Chorillos. Even though sometimes we lack the strength for raising our twin daughters and our other daughter, we thank the Lord for his faithfulness and for the prayers and the financial support that we receive from HeartCry. The work in Santa Isabel is moving along slowly for now in spite of the fact that we are going out to evangelize, disciple, and exhort the brothers who are slacking off. We also believe that the continued presence of a former (professing) brother with a bad reputation in our neighborhood is causing the neighbors to continue to gossip about our church. Please pray that this man would not continue to hurt the reputation of Christ in this community. We also continue training eight brothers for the work of the Lord. Each Friday we are gathering to study Paul Washer's book "The One True God." We also continue ministering to a couple that has been a part of our church. This Sunday they came to church to see their son, about whom they are having a custody dispute. This woman has left her husband for another man and she is unrepentant. So, we are going to have to exercise church discipline. Please pray for them. On Sundays I have been preaching through the Gospel of John. I am now in chapter 3. We have had two frequent visitors lately. One of them has a sick baby and the other lives next door to the church. Please pray for the baby's health and for the salvation of these two women. Our mission in Vista Alegre is continuing on. They are involved in evangelism and discipleship. Pray for the pastor Juan Carlos M. who is also supported by HeartCry. The mission that we support in Paracas has seen a decrease in attendance. The missionary there had to travel to raise support and he left his son in charge in the mean time. His son is a seminary student. Please pray for my mother who has some health problems. She is a great blessing to me and my wife as she helps to care for our daughters. May God Bless You All, Juan Pablo and Carolina O.
