Dear Prayer Partners,

Greetings in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ!
Due to severe computer problems, we have not been able to keep in touch as we’d like.  We want to share these praises, recent trials and prayer requests:

Praises:
We have our new van!
We thank God, and each of you for praying and sacrificially giving for this tremendous need.  It has been such a blessing to our family and many more!
Our church celebrated its 10th anniversary as an organized church.  Bro. Rogelio Acea, a fellow “HeartCry” pastor in Lima, preached for us.

We had three VBS campaigns this summer. One was at our church, and two in our Bible Club ministry areas, Balcón del Cielo and San Judas Tadeo.  Pray for property en each of these latter areas that new works may be established.  We are presently meeting in a borrowed living room in one, and in the open air in the other.  Pray God would plant His seed in these young hearts!

Our laptop crashed and we lost our entire email program and contacts. After months of unsuccessfully trying to repair it and send out letters, God provided a new computer!!!  Please send us your email address again, as we are recompiling our list!

Bro. Brad and Cassie White (from HeartCry), Bro. Leon Johnson, and the Holloway family have visited us in recent months, and were of great encouragement.

Three young people have recently expressed a desire to serve God. Pray this won’t be just an emotional moment, but true commitment to the Lord’s service.  One of these is a young man.

We had a wedding for Fernando and Ada. Ada has been coming faithfully for a couple of years, but Fernando was recently saved.  They had been living together for eight years, and have two children.  They were married both by the civil government, as the law requires, and by Joel at our church.

Some Recent Trials:
Dana’s grandmother went to be with the Lord.
After a terrible bout with multiple myeloma, “Granny” (Colena Alligood Meeker) went to be with the Lord in November.  We are so grateful for the tremendous legacy she left us:  a testimony of service to the Lord.  May we be as faithful!  We will miss her immensely.

Our church was robbed.
Our keyboard, sound system, gas tank, and many other things were stolen.  We now have someone sleeping on the property, and have purchased a new keyboard.

Spiritual Warfare:

We have faced many different struggles within the ministry in past months. The enemy has often sent darts of discouragement our way.  Pray that we will keep our eyes on Jesus!

Prayer Requests:
Perú’s presidential runoff elections will be held June 5.
Pray for God’s mercy and working!  The country will have to choose between a socialist and the daughter of our imprisoned ex-president.  We know God has a perfect plan!

FAITHUL MEN in the church. It seems we get fewer and fewer instead of more.  God has indeed been “weeding out” some in the church lately, but we believe it will help in the spiritual growth of those that remain.  Pray, pray, pray for some to be raised up to serve Him and help us in the ministry!  We do not even have a faithful deacon.  Joel has no one he can count on to help him.  We have some very faithful women, but we need faithful men!

We love and greatly appreciate each one of you.  Sometimes it gets dark “down in the well,”  but we’re so thankful to know that others are “holding the ropes”  of prayer for us!

“Remembering without ceasing your work of faith, and labour of love, and patience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ, in the sight of God and our Father.”                                                                                                                                                                           ~I Thessalonians 1:3
In His service,

Joel and Dana G. and family
