Dear Brothers,
This month I have prayed for missions, for the missionaries in the world who are preaching the word of God.
Every Saturday I'm preaching to the youth at the church which I'm pastoring. Four families are gathering as well, to help the youth. In these programs with the youth I've been sharing the book of James, and also we encourage our young brothers to memorize many verses from this letter. I think this is the way for the youth to "keep his way pure." (Psalm 119:9). From November 7th to the 9th we had a youth congress at the seminary, having as the topic: "The struggles of the Heart". It was a beautiful time where we, as pastors, began to work with the youth, praying most of all for God to create thirst for His word. Our leadership team for this congress had the purpose to speak with example and passion about delighting in God. Many youth understood the message that we wanted to transmit in this event.
On Tuesdays, we are having services at homes together with the church, with the brothers and friends who open their doors for the preaching of the gospel. A man from our church, brother Agustin, is one of those who constantly take us to his parents' home and gathers his relatives to hear about Christ.
Another brother from our church who has only known the Lord for five months, is very enthusiastic in the preaching of the gospel and comes with us to every home where we go to preach the gospel. I love these brothers in the faith so much, because with great joy they give themselves completely in order for the word of God to be preached.
The leaders of our church continue discipling the new converts for the confirmation of their faith, and to help them grow in their relationship with God. Soon we'll have two new baptized brothers, amen. Glory be to God!
I continue teaching about Sunday school administration in the seminary. Many Sunday schools are declining because they work without any purpose. In this class, I teach about Christian education and how this must begin in every home with the parents' teachings. At the end everything is responsibility of the parents, the teaching about God and His fear.
Also, I continue teaching strongly that as teachers of the Bible, we must teach what the text really teaches, and not only give stories to the children, so they will walk according to what they have learned from the word.
Besides all that, on Mondays I have a special time with the seminary students, in the chapel, where we gather to encourage them, and also to exhort and teach the Scriptures.
Greetings to all the saints, and may the grace of God be with all of you.
Jose Luis S.
