Our trip to Venezuela was a time where God was glorified in a beautiful way. Our brothers were confirmed in their faith and others understood, by the work of God, that salvation comes from God, and that there really isn't any merit in man, so everything is by grace.
We were in 6 cities during our 12 day visit. We arrived in Caracas on the 18th and after that, the next day at 6 am we departured for Barcelona, a city that is located 4 hours from the capital city, to the east. We stayed there for 2 days teaching God's Word for many hours. We began at 2 pm and finished at 10 pm, with a small resting period. People didn't move from their seats, and after finishing I jokingl said "Well brothers, let's continue", and they responded "Amen", they wanted more!! So, we were able to see the hunger of God's people in a country where corruption is growing up at a giant pace.
Then, after 2 days in Barcelona, we departured at 6 am for Ciudad Bolivar which is located 5 hours away from there. There we stayed a day confirming our brothers, who asked us to return as soon as possible to continue studying the Scriptures. We met many brothers there who had written to us and they were joyful to hear God's Word in their city. Please pray for this city, that God would raise up laborers who would work in His vineyard.
Then after being there, we departured towards Anaco, a city where some congregations have understood the true gospel and where we exhorted them to continue battling for the faith that has been given to us. We stayed there for 2 days and our brothers packed that place. The schedule was the same as before in all the other places. Our brothers brought their food to stay in and take advantage of the teaching. Some brothers who knew of our visit, were able to follow us to the other cities where we went. Some of them even came with us to six cities where we taught.
After being in Anaco, we returned to Barcelona to spend one more day and continue with the teaching. Our brothers were waiting for us and the place was packed again. People were on the sidewalks, in this city where there is a lot of fighting, but also where more people of God are found. The Sovereign Lord wanted it that way.
Then, we went to Maracay, and for this trip we had to go through Caracas, because it was on the way, as it is to the west of Caracas. So we arrived in this city and several brothers were already in the meeting place, and ready to hear God's Word. Also, some brothers came from neighboring cities and we enjoyed a beautiful time where many were confirmed in their faith. On the next day we had a men's meeting, where we talked about our responsibility; holiness in our familiy and service to The Lord. We met many brothers who had previously written to us. Even though it was a very short time there, we rejoiced in knowing that the only thing that we want is the glory of God.
This very day we had a time with the pastors of this city, and around 100 people attended. At this meeting we shared about the gospel and Christ's glory. Only three people and two "women pastors" left the place when we started to talk about God's justice and His wrath towards sin. All the rest stayed and marveled at the wisdom that God has given our brother Eder to explain the truth of God. In the beginning many were mad that a young man was teaching them, but after hearing and having God work in them, they blessed God and couldn't resist the wisdom of our brother. God was glorified!
After that, we traveled at 6 am to Acarigua which was 4 hours away from there, to the Southeast. A group of very joyful brothers were waiting for us with food and willing to hear God's Word. We stayed there for about 6 hours teaching in just a day that we were there. Many brothers were encouraged to continue with the preaching of the gospel and to live in holiness. They were eager to give everything for the gospel of our salvation.
We left this city and went to the capital city, Caracas, for our last 3 days, where the same schedule was repeated. Our teaching time started at 3 pmĀ and lasted until 10 pm in the evening. On Saturday we began and finished on Sunday evening praising and glorifying God for all this time. Some brothers from other cities came for this last time, and we prayed, sang, and meditated on the truth of God in a wonderful way. God was very propitious to His people.
God is saving His people in the midst of corruption and is doing this now! Please pray for our brothers there who can't send their children to school because of the teachers who show their filth contaminating the children's minds. Some of them have already taken their children out of the universities because they are seeing those things as normal. Very soon this country will be as Sodom and Gomorrah, and if God doesn't destroy them is because He has many people there. We in Peru might be next, "Sodom and the neighboring cities..." God's people must act and be strong.
We are very joyful because God has allowed us to know these brothers and to see their hunger for God's word and their dedication to the gospel. This has encouraged us and also comforted our hearts to continue fighting together for the faith of the gospel. To Him be all the Glory!!!
