Dear Brothers, On April 1st and 2nd we had evangelistic campaigns in our meeting place. On Thursday I preached about 7 reasons why Christ died on the cross, taken from John Piper's book "The Passion of Jesus Christ", in which the author originally mentions 50 reasons why Christ died. But I just took 7 for my sermon. Some weeks ago I was reading this book and each time that I finished reading about 1 reason, I wanted to read more. And when I started with another reason then I wanted to know more about that topic. I thank God for books like this one. On Friday we continued with the campaign. Many people brought by our brothers heard about the terrible depravity that is in them. They also heard about sin, and that because of it God's wrath is coming. But at the same time, God shows His grace by having sent Jesus Christ. On Saturday the 3rd I preached to the youth of our church where I'm pastoring together with my father, and I told them that the goal of our worship is Christ, and that our lives must revolve around Him. So every person that doesn't know Him doesn't know eternal life. Beloved of God, every Saturday I'm working with the youth. For the next months my father and I are going to be with them, one Saturday I will teach them and my father the next. On Sunday the 4th I had the privilege again to open the scriptures to preach to the people of God. I preached about the resurrection, on the day that Christ was risen from the dead, death itself died. Many people came for the first time, and the leaders talked with them at the end of the activity. We prayed for their repentance and that they would fall down in awe before Jesus Christ, the truth, the way and the life. On Monday the 5th we had a meeting with some pastors, which took place in the church "Divino Redentor". That day I was in charge of the exposition of God's Word, so I exposited the scriptures before my co-laborerss, the pastors from the area. More than 25 of them had gathered together. I was glad to preach God's Word, and my desire was to please God first, and then to edify men. On Tuesday the 13th I met with some brothers from our church to watch on video the conferences from Paul Washer, Charles Leiter and other Reformed pastors. On Wednesday the 14th we went out to knock on doors of the town of Mallaritos with the purpose to give them the bad news about their condition before God and then present the good news about Christ. On Monday the 26th, Tuesday the 27th and Wednesday the 28th, we had our fourth conference for married couples as we have every month. This time we had only a few attendants. But we are sure that at the same time they are interested to work to have or continue having a happy marriage. We are praying because the next month we want to go to the schools to teach these conferences to the parents, to the authorities, to all we can, and obviously the main topic won't be marriage but the gospel. Please pray for God to pour out His love upon them that they may be able to truly love their spouses, as Christians who are striving to love with Christ-like love. Also we are gathering with a group of pastors from Bellavista who are interested to teach these conferences to their members. Regarding the seminary, I'm teaching about cults, and the cults that we mainly have in our area. Also I'm glad for the brother who is coming in November for the next conference in Lima. Thanks my brothers from HeartCry for your spiritual support, for giving us the teachings and for being concerned for the lives of the missionaries, that they may continue in God's Word. Thank you also for your financial support. Jose Luis S.
