Dear Praying Friends,

“…Yet thou, O LORD, art in the midst of us, and we are called by thy name; leave us not.”  (Jeremiah 14:9b)

Had God not called us, we would have by now “thrown in the towel.” It is so discouraging to see, after 10 years’ labor, so few maturing spiritually.  Yet we are not called to be a success; we are called to be faithful.  The same God who called us will remain with us, giving us His grace and strength day by day.

We were in the U.S. for eight weeks. Joel was able to get his travel documents renewed, and received them the night before we returned. We visited as many churches as possible (traveling over 7,000 miles), but due to distance, weather, sickness, and limited time we were not able to get to all of you.  We hope to reach the rest of you on our next visit.

Upon our return to Perú, there have been many problems to address.
Many have come in need of counseling.  Our constant plea is for wisdom in each area.  We need particular wisdom dealing with several situations within the church.

The young people in the church have been our encouragement.
Several of them are serving the Lord in ministries within the church and are a real example to the adults!

Joel has begun studying twice weekly with a local barber who is interested in learning more about the Bible.  Pray for Julio Cesar’s salvation, and for the others being discipled.

Joel has been preaching for the past month from Jeremiah. This week we began a church-wide discipleship study using Bro. Paul Washer’s material.  It is an in-depth doctrinal study.  Pray for the Holy Spirit’s work in hearts.  We still are in great need of a dependable servant to help Joel in the church.  Thank you for praying with us!

In His service,

Joel G.
