Dear brothers in Christ:

In my last report I was telling about Johnny and his conversion a few days before dying. My heart is full of joy as I wrote these lines because I could see the power of God to save and his Sovereignty in giving repentance and faith through the preaching of the Gospel. Our God is Almighty and willing to save. How gracious and merciful is our Precious God! How sweet is His Word and how Great in power and majesty! I preached many times on the power of God to save and I saw with my eyes His sovereignty in saving before my eyes. Johnny was an example of true conversion, a man who was changed by the One who regenerated his soul and put a new heart in him. I praise God because he is almighty to save. I glorify God because he delights in saving people and makes all things for the Glory of Him ALONE, not sharing his glory with anyone. May the Lord continue bringing salvation to Johnny's house, knowing this, as Revelation says "And I heard a voice from heaven, saying, "Write, blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on!'" "Yes," says the Spirit, "so that they may rest from their labors, for their deeds follow with them." (Revelation 14:13).

Freddy was a good friend of Johnny who was taking care of him in his last days and after Johnny's funeral he phoned me to talk about it. He told me about the different person Johnny was and the tremendous change which took place in him. He was a completely new and different person, almost unrecognizable. He thought he was a believer for many years but in seeing Johnny's life he understood his lack of faith and fruit for the Glory of God. He is coming every Monday to study with us the book of Genesis, but he needs to know more about the Gospel and God, to know Him and rely on Christ's work for his life.

Freddy and I are studying the Scriptures every Thursday, going through the nature and attributes of God, the sin and nature of man, the Cross and the Work of Christ and Repentance and Faith. He is reading the Scriptures with great joy. He told me he is reading the Scriptures as never before. He is rejoicing in reading every chapter of Scripture. He is reading Genesis now. We don't want to take anything for granted, but we are waiting on the Lord, trusting His faithfulness and ability to save sinners and bring them into His kingdom of grace. The only reason I am reporting this is to ask your prayers, hoping that the Lord will save Freddy not only from hell but from the power of sin in his life. The work of Christ will be fulfilled in his life according to His Will and ability.

Michael, a youth from Pennsylvania has come to spend time serving the Lord here in The Church of the Savior in Barranco. The Lord was moving his heart months ago so he began to pray to know God's will in this regard. The Lord opened a door for him to glorify Him here in Peru and he is going to be here until April 2nd. He is living with me now and he is being a tremendous blessing for us. His service to the Lord is encouraging many here and we are seeing the Lord's hand upon his life. He is studying Spanish now so pray for his time here in Peru.

We continue teaching in an exegetical way the book of Hebrews and it has been a tremendous blessing for my life and for youth's lives. Now we are studying chapter 11 and explaining more about the faith of the men who lived before the Cross of Christ. What a great joy in knowing every Christian throughout history has been saved only through faith. Too much confusion has arisen in this matter. Were Christians saved only through faith in the Old Testament or this is a condition of the New Testament? Were they relying on the promise of God of a Messiah or they were trusting in their ability to obey the commandments of the Law given by God to Moses? What a great encouragement in seeing the life of faith in the saints of the Old Testament! I am really thankful to the Lord for this opportunity of teaching these great doctrines. We are not worthy of anything, but in His mercy the Lord grants this privilege of teaching His Word to His people, this group of young people and I can say with great confidence and joy in the Lord that our great and glorious God has given us a good group of youth and they are growing in their knowledge of the Scriptures and in grace in the Lord. I am really, really thankful for this and my heart is full of joy and gratitude to my Lord and God, hoping the Lord will continue giving me wisdom and grace to keep sharing with them the amazing things that are in Scriptures. It has been a blessing and I have never seen a group of young people who share their faith with boldness and confidence in the Lord. What a great joy to see God's work in their hearts!!! As I teach them the Word I remember the words of the preacher: "Remember also your Creator in the days of your youth". Please pray for these people, for the Lord to sustain, preserve and persevere His work in them, until the day of the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

We continue studying the book of Genesis along with youth and we have enjoyed it a lot. We are in chapter 8 studying about Noah and the Flood and studying the beginnings of all the doctrines found in Scriptures. They are really encouraged in studying and learning more about their Creator and Sovereign God. They are interested in learning and studying diligently the Scriptures. Definitely, it is the Work of our Almighty God who creates in us the will and the work by His own good will. Praise be the Lord for these blessings and the opportunity of seeing how these youth are growing in mercy and in the knowledge of our great and glorious God.

Please pray for my life and for God to enlighten me through His mighty Spirit, that my heart would be able to understand His Word and the amazing truth of the Gospel in our Lord Jesus. God is the Gospel and this is an amazing truth. Pray for God to strengthen my life more and more through His Word and Holy Spirit. May the Son Of God receive the full reward for His suffering.

I am really, really thankful to the Lord and the people who are giving through HeartCry to support missionaries here in Peru and throughout the world. My gratitude to the Lord and many, many thanks to people who are supporting this ministry. I cannot help giving my gratitude to the Lord for their lives and every time I remember them I give thanks to the Lord for such a grace in their lives in giving themselves to this grace. May the Lord abound more and more in their lives.

May our Lord and Savior bless your lives and your families'. May God be praised and His Name Glorified.

In Jesus Christ,

Your brother and friend,

Walter I.
