The following is a report that Martin Z. sent to us after his recent trip to Colombia. This is a testimony of a pastor from a "Charismatic Church of Colombia." He told us that he always knew that in his ministry things weren't quite well, that something was missing. One day he decided to do something for the "growth" of the membership, so he asked the brothers to bring their relatives' pictures to pray for them and he tried some other gimmicks. But his wife, who is very godly, said to him to not do that, that it wasn't right. Then she began to search for good resources to help her husband's ministry, and it was in this way that she found the audio from our conference on "The True Gospel" held in Lima, and after she listened to it, she told her husband "you have to listen to this." When he finished listening, he said that he couldn't believe it, suddenly all the wrong things which he was doing came to his mind. So he repented with tears. After that, he continued searching and then contacted us. We told him to get more resources and he continued studying and dowloading the books from our web page and teaching them to his congregation. When the brothers began listening to him, they noticed a change in him and asked themselves what was happening with the pastor. He said that the congregation thought that he was angry or something, at the same time they realized that he was more biblical and therefore better. In an unbelievable way the congregation began to change, they gave up many practices that were charismatic and are now resting in the Scriptures. This is a congregation of more than 300 people and almost everybody in the congregation is coming to understand the mistakes in which they were walking. Glory to God! This pastor traveled two hours everyday that we had the conferences, and he was the most attentive to the teachings. Also, the congregation were they belonged, "The Main Church", has responded in a positive way. The pastor has begun to study and there is something that we have to consider, that they have trembled before the word of God. This reaction was the total opposite to the "so called" Baptists in the area who question the Scriptures. These brothers really humbled themselves before the Lord. This was a lesson for me, because I have always despised the teaching of the charismatics, condemning them and their practices. But God has taught me to not call unclean what God has called clean, and that God is not a respecter of persons. Who are we to do that? The discipleship lessons that we are putting on line will help them greatly. Thanks for all your support to continue extending the Gospel of Christ. Blessings, MartÃÂn Z.
