Today I was able to meet with four men that HeartCry supports. Three of them (Junior C., Miguel S., and Juan O.) came to see me here in Barranco. Then in the evening we went to visit Dario S. and we attended the Friday evening worship service at his church. Junior, like Eder M., also studied in the Dominican Republic and is also involved in multiple teaching ministries at the Church of the Savior, at the Ministerial Academy, in other parts of Lima, and even occasionally in other countries in Latin America. Junior is also very involved in helping with the "On-Line Discipleship Class" that the brothers from the church offer (in Spanish) using a discipleship book written by brother Paul Washer. Please pray that Junior would continue to grow in his knowledge of the Lord and that all of these teaching ministries would be sustained by a real, vibrant relationship with Him. Miguel is pastoring a mission church in Villa El Salvador (one of the larger sectors of Lima). The church has gone through some challenging issues in the lives of those who were attending. In the midst of all of this Miguel seems to be very encouraged and believes that the Lord is purifying His church and that He will build His church. Juan is also pastoring in the Lima area. His church also helps to sponsor a mission about four hours south of Lima. Juan seemed to be doing well. In the past he has had some health issues. For now he seems to be doing well. However one of his daughters has been having some potentially serious health issues. Please pray for her. Juan O., visiting a class at the ministerial academy this week. Dario is also pastoring a church in part of Villa El Salvador. Dario, his wife, and his three daughters all seemed to be doing very well. We had a great time worshiping with them, visiting with their church family, and visiting with him and his family. His church has had its ups and downs but, all in all, he seemed to be very encouraged in the Lord.
