Today I met with Alfonso N. Up to this point, Alfonso has been working out of the Church of the Savior (in Lima) as an evangelist. He has helped to lead the evangelistic efforts of the church but he has also been involved in training people from other churches here in Lima in evangelism. In addition to that, through his website (www.enlospasosdelmaestro.com) he has been able to help many people in many different countries in the area of evangelism. Last Sunday the Church of the Savior voted to make Alfonso its third elder (along with Martin Z. and Rogelio A.). So, Alfonso's ministry will be changing some. He definitely will continue in evangelism but he will have to make some adjustments. Please pray from him to know how best to balance his time. In the evening I met with Tomas U. and we attended the prayer meeting at his church. Tomas is the pastor of a well established church in Lima and he makes four trips a year to the jungle in order to lead a Bible institute for pastors and church leaders. HeartCry primarily works with Tomas to support his ministry in the jungle. Tomas shared with me that the institute currently includes students from ten different churches. Please pray for Tomas to have wisdom as he continues to teach these men and that the fruit of the teaching would be strong, biblical churches in the jungle.
