Today I met with Segundo G., Wehrner P., and Martin Z. Segundo and Wehrner are both from the Chiclayo area but have come to Lima for our training time. They both are pastoring churches and are also involved in mission work. Segundo is helping to plant a church in Mochumi (a town not far from Chiclayo) and Wehrner is helping to plant churches in Monsefu and Sinchihual. Monsefu is not far from Ferrenafe (the town where Wehrner lives). Sinchihual is in the mountains. During the summer on the coast, it is the rainy season in the mountains. Consequently, many people from the mountains come to the coast. Several people from Sinchihual have been attending Wehrner's church and consequently this has led to Wehrner's church geting involved in mission work in Sinchihual. Please pray for both of these men to have the strength and the endurance to press on in these ministries. Martin is one of the pastors of The Church of the Savior in Barranco. He also leads the Bible institute that meets at the church on Tuesday nights. This institute serves our missionaries in the Lima area in addition to some other pastors and church leaders. Martin also has been making some occasional trips within Peru and even to other Latin American countries to do some teaching. These trips have come about because of people who have written or called asking for help. There seems to be a real awakening to the truth in much of Latin America and Martin and our other missionaries are trying to do what they can (through these trips) to meet some of the needs that this awakeing is producing. Pray that the Lord would give him wisdom for all of the many tasks that he is involved in. Yesterday we also continued with our training time which included question and answer time and teaching from the books of Mark and 1 Timothy.
