Yesterday I met with Joel G. and his wife Dana. Then, I met with Gustavo R.

Joel and Dana are working on the very outskirts of Lima where Joel is pastoring a church. Although there have been some problems in the church lately, Joel seemed very encouraged and said that it seemed to him that the Lord was really at work in the church. One of the encouraging signs that he pointed to is the perseverance in the faith of most of the brothers and the enthusiasm of some of the younger members of the church. Please pray for Joel and Dana as they balance ministry with raising their four children.

Gustavo is pastoring a church in the Lima area. Every time that I meet with Gustavo, I appreciate his sincere desire to grow personally in the Lord and to do things biblically in the church. He and I talked over a few issues that he is wrestling with in the church and that he wants to approach in a way that is faithful to Scripture. He said that the people seem to be growing spiritually and he shared with me that three people are awaiting baptism.

Yesterday morning we had a good question and answer time; the brothers that have come from Venezuela (the brothers that we have written about in our magazine) are very eager to learn as much as they can from the Word.

Yesterday afternoon we continued with our training time. I continued teaching through Mark, making it through Chapter 2, and Martin Z. continued teaching through 1 Timothy.
