I am glad that I have another opportunity to share with you the joy of serving the Lord in this corner of the world for the salvation of those who believe and obey Christ. The month of January was a special one for me personally and for my family. I used to rest after the busy period of the holidays. This year my family and I dedicated this month to fasting and prayer. We wanted to have a spiritual rest after the busy schedule which we had this year on holidays.  I managed to visit several churches this month and help their ministry as much as I could. I was a source of encouragement for my colleague missionaries and for their churches where they serve. In some of the situations I went to help in less desirable circumstances as it was the case from Porubna where I attended a funeral service. We buried the father of a friend from the village. Porubna is the village where we lived 3 years in the beginning of our ministry in Ukraine. It was a painful moment especially because he died relatively young at 46. But on this occasion we proclaimed the Gospel for two days in Porubna and saw many people from that corner of the village listen. Interestingly, if they had been invited to an evangelistic event they surely would not have come. In the evening of the death watch there were around 50 persons, 30 of which were nonbelievers from the village. On the day of the funeral there attended more unsaved people. Another event during this time that was more pleasant was the celebration of the Lord's birth. After we rejoiced over this event with the children we went with a group of young people for caroling in Ijesti. The strategy was the same in Pasat where we visited unsaved families. We were welcomed by most of those where we caroled. Regarding the ministry in Pasat, I am glad to tell you that each time when I go the village I have a great joy in meeting with born again people. It is indeed amazing how the Lord can transform the life of a man. In Pasat He has transformed 7 people. During the period we have studied together each book of the New Testament. We were glad to see changes in the attitude of the people from the village. Some of them are now more receptive to the proclamation of the Gospel. We do not have concrete results among them as of yet, but I believe God will soon bring others to the obedience of the Gospel. I want share a prayer request. Marta, my wife, is pregnant. But this pregnancy is risky as she is likely to have a miscarriage. Pray with us that God will help us overcome this situation too. On this occasion I spent more time with my wife and my children. The effect was amazing, especially regarding my children, as I did not realize how much they missed me. I always thought that I spent enough time with them, but I was wrong. Because I gave them the time that was left in my life, I was not able to play or sing with them. The experience with my family this month has been wonderful.
