My greatest responsibility as a pastor is to make sure that the church members receive solid teaching and good spiritual food so that the problems are settled and they are ready for the ministry. In order to do that, I need a lot of time of personal preparations such as reading and studying. I do that once a week on Mondays.

As I mentioned in my previous report, we started to meet together in a small group in our neighborhood. We come from different Baptist churches and need regular fellowship, prayer and Bible study. I was assigned to lead this group and was glad that after a few years we started to meet again. They asked me to teach them how to preach the gospel correctly. I am glad to see that they are willing to learn. We have this meeting every Tuesday.

Wednesday is a visitation day. I use the first part of the day to visit those who are home. After the church service at 8.30 p.m., I visit others. I usually make one to two visits before the church service and one after. When family issues show up, I have to leave them for the upcoming week.

Thursday is the day when I visit unbelievers. I also visit churches from our area where I am asked to go (for preaching or interpreting). I also do the administrative work on this day. When I am there I take advantage of the opportunity and share the gospel with people whenever I can.

On Fridays I visit the Romanian people from Kamenka. I also visit my parents who live there. They are older and need my help and care. I visited this village twice this month and once especially for my parents. The gas was more expensive but my parents are worth it. Saturday is the only day that I spend with my family (I get to see them only late in the evening some days). We are usually busy with housework the first part of the day and then we can rest and spend time with each another.

Sunday is usually the most intensive day for a pastor. I visit several sick people the first Sunday of the month so I can give them the Lord's supper. I do that after the morning service and before the evening service. At the beginning of the year, I asked permission from the church to visit other churches the last Sunday of the month. When I am away, the young people fill in for me. This way I can visit a village, Starcea, on the 27th of March. I was invited there by an old friend who has seven children. I was in the church with them in the morning and then went to their place and answered some of the children's questions that they would not dare ask their parents. I had a good day there.

We had a funeral service this month. A lady from the church passed away. She had three sisters and her daughter was not a believer. I was surprised to see the house full for two days before the actual burial. Many of her relatives came and one of her sisters prayed to receive Christ. It was all unexpected the way God worked. The daughter promised she would come to church.  Many people came to the funeral service and the gospel was preached in two languages. I think it has been one of the best evangelistic events as people understood the Word. The Lord has been glorified both through this lady's life and death.
