The Ministry in Tereblecia

The Lord helped me as I visited this village seven times last month. I preached three sermons there and let four Bible study meetings on 1 Thessalonians and the first chapter of 2 Thessalonians. I visited four families where we talked about the Bible and prayed together. I also visited three other families for counseling. I had a wonderful experience there and I want to share it with you.

It's about a young Christian family who got married seven years ago and now have three children. They are not members of our church.  The couple had recently been divorced and the woman along with her children came to live with her parents in our village. I talked to both of them separately on several occasions. I did my best to help them get back together. It was such a bad testimony that two Christian people had gotten a divorce. I shared many things from my own life with them. I told them how my wife and I had spent a lot of money trying to have a child for about 20 years. I told them they would be held accountable for the life of their three children. When they heard that, they both burst into tears and asked for forgiveness. They eventually got back together. I thank God for this good outcome.

I realized that the people that wanted to get married needed to get more premarital counseling so that they wouldn't need that much counseling later. I can see problems in many Christian families because neither of the two live a life of repentance. My plan is to be more seriously involved in this ministry, to help the young families from our church.

One thing I usually do is counsel people both before and after the church services. I got to talk with twelve people this month. Spiritual counseling is a very important thing in which I will spend more time doing.

We finished the Bible study on 2 Thessalonians. We took a written test on it with the whole church. They all had to answer 26 questions from this book. Whenever they gave a wrong answer, they were given the paper back and had to find the right answer on their own. I am glad that from the youngest to the oldest, they read the book about six times. We will continue to do that so that I can challenge them to read the Bible.

The Ministry in Ceranuti

I visited the churches from Pueni, Bahranesti, and Rachitna, Visitors from the States and Romania came to Rachitna and Bahranesti to serve. Two older gentlemen came with me to Tereblecia. They preached the Word there. After the church service, we visited a man who was not a Christian. He was very hardened and didn't want to hear the gospel. Praise the Lord he welcomed us and we talked about salvation with him for about an hour. I believe the Lord will continue to work in his heart and give him salvation.

I spent a considerable time preparing the HeartCry conference with our guests from the U. S. and Romania. I thank God and HeartCry for this conference.  It was very welcomed for all of us. We were all spiritually edified by the wonderful teachings we heard. We pray that God will bless and reward the efforts of our brothers.
