The Ministry in Tereblecia

I visited this church on few occasions because I had to visit other areas as well. I went there six times, preached twice and led Bible study on 1Timothy 2-5 four times. I continued the Bible study and insisted that every church member read the studied passages and answer the questions when they went home.  Most of them are serious about doing that.

I offered spiritual counseling to people, especially to young married couples. They've had problems and conflicts more than ever. That is why I started to emphasize reading the Bible more as families. I went to talk to three families and ten other people. After the church services, I visited five families. We talked about the Word of God and I answered their questions. When I visit people I usually meet unbelievers there as well. I always share the salvation in Jesus Christ. We had an evangelistic event and about six new people came. Four of them were from the Catholic Church. We also had guests from Romania. A Baptist pastor and a Catholic priest who wanted to visit Bucovina and several of the Baptist churches. This is why we also invite Catholic people to come. There is both Orthodox and Catholic churches in Tereblecia.  Only Orthodox people repented of their sins and left their church, but no one from the Catholic church. We are praying that Catholic people will get to know Christ too. We'll take advantage of any opportunity to reach people in this area.

The ministry in Ceranuti, Transcarpatia and Odesa

I visited these areas this month and preached the gospel in the churches there. I visited the sick and I gave counsel both to missionaries and church members there.

Cernauti

We had a conference with the missionaries and the pastors in this area. It's been a good and encouraging time for everyone. I also visited the church in Bahranesti twice and preached the Word there. After the church services I visited two families and offered counsel to six people. The pastor of this church, Patars I. told me that both him and his wife wanted to go as missionaries in Poroscovo, Trancarpatia. That is 500km from Cernauti. We had built a church there with the help of Nehemiah mission. While I will wait on the Lord to find somebody else to work in Bahranesti I will have to visit this church more often.

I had six meetings with the missionary families. We prayed and made plans for the ministry. The young ministers need encouragement and reprimanding which I have to do even though it is not easy to find enough time to do it.

Transcarpatia

I left Cernauti because I received some sad news about a missionary from Poroscovo. He was
with his wife in the car and there was ice on the road when they ran into a truck. His wife died
on the spot. I visited him in the hospital and prayed with him. Then I left for Slatina where they were having his wife's wake service. I preached there and tried to comfort their 18-year old daughter and the church.  It was hard for me to preach on such an occasion. Pray that God will work in bringing healing to brother David C. and his daughter and that he will be able to minister there again.

Odesa

The next day I went to Odesa so that I could visit the Romanian villages where we had missionaries. I visited five villages and preached in each of them. The people there are really thirsty for the Word as they only have one minister there. There is another village there, Pocrovca, where there are 19 believers but no minister. There is an older man there who opens and closes the services with prayer. They listen to sermons on tapes. There is also a lady who is a teacher and sometimes preaches. There is a great need of preaches in that area. We should pray more seriously that God will send ministers.

I also offered counseling while there. I visited sick people in different areas. How I thank God for this blessed trip that brought encouragement to the churches and their leaders. Although we should visit them more often, the distances are long. We traveled 3000km in a week, from Transcarpatia to Odesa.

It breaks my heart to see people hungry and thirsty for the Word and no one to give it them. On the other hand, there are also so many churches who are fed, but careless. I will continue to pray that God will bring revival.

Thank you for your interest in the ministry here and for all your support. God bless you and keep you at His disposal!
