I am honored to be able to share with you again about the missionary work in Cernauti. I can gladly say that the ministry in Pasat is going well as the spiritual climate is good. The church is going through a process of spiritual growth that will definitely extend over the entire life of the church. We can see some changes in the attitude and behavior of the believers when it comes to being involved in the ministry. When we look back, we can say that it's been hard in the ministry in Pasat, but God has given us joy too.
We didn't have any special events in the village. One of Misa's brothers who is an Orthodox got married. That gave us the opportunity to talk again with the priest. This time he was unexpectedly kind. He invited us to come inside the church and see how they had built and decorated it. We were happy to see this change in him and it's definitely better than the tensions that used to be between us and him. We are happy to be at peace.
Regarding our church, we decided to have a special time for Bible study. That brought us many spiritual benefits. The believers are usually receptive and want to discover new truths from the Scripture and do their best to live accordingly. Some of the people who are now Christians used to have connections with witchcraft before being saved. My recent study from Acts spoke about this particular subject. One of the ladies told us a few things about her own experience. She had thought it was God behind that particular experience but she then understood that the devil himself could imitate, being actually quite an expert in doing that. Many people are deceived this way.
We always try to motivate the people from the village to be a light before their neighbors, friends and colleagues. Then we are to tell them about the Lord even though we've done it before. We haven't had any positive feedback from the other people for quite a while but we believe that God still has many people here to save.
Things are still slow and difficult in Grusevca. The church was planted 17 years ago here but the people are not very strong. The believers there get discouraged and instead of growing in number, they decrease. I do my best to motivate them to be active in the ministry. They must be helped to understand their role in the body of Christ. We are having Bible study there. I hope that the Bible teaching will bring them closer to the Lord so they can see their lives change.
