By the Lord's grace, we continued the ministry in our village and church. Although the people have been busy with planting and tilling the ground, God prepared hearts to hear the gospel. I want to mention some of the most important events this month.

I was surprised to receive a phone call from a 70-year old man who asked me to drop by his place. He lives somewhere in the woods and it's hard to get there due to the bad roads. I decided to take brother Cuciurean along. When we got there, we saw this old man who was crippled in both feet and could barely crawl using two sticks. He started to tell us about his life. Since he was a child he grew up as a Jehovah Witness. The communists persecuted him a lot and he couldn't even get proper treatment for his legs because of his religious affiliation.

After sharing all this with us, he confessed he had reached the conclusion that most of the Jehovah's Witnesses doctrine was false. He had talked to their leaders and tried to support his opinion with the Bible, but they didn't listen to him. They told him to mind his business. Therefore, this old man wanted to talk to us about the Bible and pray. We took some time to talk about the person and ministry of Jesus Christ. We relied on the Scripture alone and not some other kind of literature. It took us a few hours to go through several Bible passages talking about the divinity of Christ. He cannot come to church because of his physical disability and the distance. When it rains one can get there only by horse. So every Sunday he listens to sermons over the phone. We stay in touch with him and his wife and pray for them. His name is Avraam. We want to bring him to the church someday when the weather is nice.

Another person I want to share a few things about is Igor. He is around 20 years old. We hired him to work on the church building and I've had several opportunities to talk to him. He has already come to three church services. On Wednesdays, we usually have rehearsals before the church service. Igor came and sang along. He is a little shy.  I am praying for him to get saved. His father is sick with heart problems. We had a special prayer time for Igor's family.

I've been visiting a man, Victor, for more than a year. He reads the Bible and other books that I have recommended on a daily basis. Unfortunately, this only lasts for about two weeks. Then he gives in to alcohol addiction and no one can talk to him for two or three days. On May 23, I spent a longer time talking to him and praying for him to be freed from his sins and addictions. He always promises to repent of his sins, but he falls over and over.

I want to mention about an evangelistic event that will take place on June 18 in the sports arena in the neighboring village. Our guest speaker will be brother Viorel C. who will come together with a Christian music band. As a church, we've already started the preparations for this event as each of us have been praying for and visiting five unsaved people from Patrauti. I've already invited some of them and told them I prayed for them every day. They were surprised to hear that and wanted to know why I was doing it. I told them I wanted to see them saved. I pray and hope that this evangelistic event will bear fruit here in Patrauti.

On May 9, we got together will all the other churches from Storojnet county. We met in Ciudei. The topic of the meeting was "The Church During the Last Days". The people from each church had either a song, greeting or testimony for us. After that, we listened to messages delivered by two Romanian pastors. It's been a blessing for the people from Ptaruti to see and get to know all the Christians from the other villages. We will pray and support each other in the ministry.

On May 8, I went to a Bible conference for the missionaries from Cernauti. The speaker was Ion B. They talked about the ministry of God's servant. There were several sessions. It's been a time when I could learn new and useful things for me personally, my family and the church.

As I was saying in my previous report, we started to have kids programs during the church services in a different room. Our hope is for them to be the starting point for a wonderful ministry in this big village.

As a mission coordinator for our county, I visited several churches in order to motivate them to continue the ministry in their area. I got together with the pastors from our area twice. We scheduled youth meetings to train the young people for the evangelistic event on June 18. Our desire is to go to Corcesti too, a village where there's no evangelical church. We want to give out invitations and provide transportation for all who want to come to hear the gospel.

I continue to deliver evangelistic messages twice a month. On Wednesdays nights twice a month, we have Romanian guests coming. We use the other Wednesday services to edify our faith.
