As we mentioned in the previous report, we had a conference planned. It was meant to be a training seminary for the summer kids and youth camps. I've been very much involved in that. Three people from our church got to go to this training conference and share their vision for the summer camps. We had a few meetings with these leaders. We hope to find enough leaders for the camp that's planned on July 12-17. So far, we only have half the people that we need. Pray for devoted leaders and good weather.
I've been to two evangelistic events this month. One of them was what they call Family Celebration. I challenged the people from our church to invite young families to come. The event took place in 7 different places over three nights. 800 couples attended the services during those days. By the end we had some tickets for the ones that wanted to come the next week as well. The price of the tickets, which was very small, also included a romantic dinner. We sold tickets to 80 couples. We have a specific program for the ones that want to stay in touch with our church. Please pray for these people that they won't lose their interest in getting to know God and his people better.
The second evangelistic event took place in a sports arena. It was organized by all the Romanian Baptist and Pentecostal churches from our area. It took place in Sulita, Storojenet, and Herta on June 18, 19, 20. On Sunday, the sports arena from Cernauit had around 15,000 people. People from our church offered a ride to others from other places. We had around 1000 kids who had their own special program. I've been personally involved in this event and think it's been something very special. Among all the people who came we also had the niece of the first man who got baptized here in Cernauti. Around 100 people came forwarded during the invitation. Pray for these people that they would truly find the Lord.
The ladies' charity group from our church helped us a lot. They helped financially support a 14-year old boy that is going to have surgery in Kiev. I am happy to see them respond whenever they see a need.
I had an interesting conversation with two ladies. They came to do some measurements to the property next to mine. We talked about spiritual things for a couple of hours. We had some tea and then continued the discussion. They had many questions for me. Please pray for them.
Regarding the Romanian village Kamenka, I've been there twice this month and preached the gospel.
