By God's grace I want to share with you the way God used us in the village of Patrauti de Sus.
We've all been excited after the holidays, waiting to see the results of the tracts given out to people in the village. We tried to see those people who had seemed so nice back then, but instead, they looked at us as if we had been nothing but some weird sectarians. I was disappointed because I didn't understand how people could be like that. I don't understand why so few accept the good news that we give them. I told the people in our church that we had to find different ways to approach others. Many people said that it was only the Gypsies, the prostitutes, the poor and the divorced that come to our church. But that was also the people who came to Christ as well and He said that they enter His kingdom sooner than others.
There are people who come to our church only when they need help, they know we won't turn them down. There is someone in our church who is more involved in this that helps both with his money and his car, but he once asked me if there should be a limit in helping others. There are people who we use to help, but when we stopped helping, they left, went back to the bar and won't listen to us.

I've had to deal with many questions this month that I had no answer to. How should we approach people in order to find sincere people who want to know God as a Savior and are not after personal gain? When I visit the people that we have helped first thing they tell me is a list of their needs, medicines, food, money, and other stuff. Their soul problems and the relationship with Christ come last. What should we do? What strategy should we use? I take these questions to my brothers in church for fasting and prayer that God will show me His great plan for this village. On the other hand, I am sure that God has many people in this village that He wants to save; my question is when? I know He is sovereign and in control of everything but we like to be sure of the methods and approaches we should use. These are the questions that have been troubling me and it hurts to see people being so indifferent. I challenge my church to pray and fast so that we can have victory in this village.

Even though I haven't been able to talk to many people this month, I visited some people who seemed willing to talk about spiritual things. They haven't made the decision to follow Christ yet, but they attend our church services on a regular basis. Ivan and Raia, who are in their 50s, live about 4 km from the church. Raia has been very sick and has seen many doctors.  She has also talked to many priests, but no one could fix her problems. Every two days, she has fierce headaches. Both of them started to come to our church two years ago, but they're not Christians.  They are very open to talk about faith and God. Every time we get the chance to talk, I am surprised to see that they get more and more mature and know more things about Christ. I encouraged them to put their lives in God's hands. I listen to their problems about their children and I am happy that I can pray for them. This way they feel encouraged. I look forward to God working in their lives and family. We were supposed to have a meeting in their home to invite their neighbors to come, but it snowed a lot and we couldn't make it. We rescheduled it for the next month.

There is another family I wrote about last month. It's Ion and Lilea. They brought their little girl to church to be dedicated. Since they seemed so open, I've kept in touch with them. I invited them to a conference we are going to have in March with the church from Patrauti de Jos. The topic of the conference is about the relationships between parents and children and the importance of raising children. The guest speakers are from the States. I want to take every opportunity to get closer to this family. I pray that God will give me wisdom in sharing His Word with this young couple so that they'll get saved. Their mother is a member of our church and each Sunday we pray specifically for the salvation of her family, the husband and the children.

Another family I want to talk about is the family of Misa L.. This man used to be an alcoholic, but a few years ago He gave his life to Christ. His life changed radically and he's been praying for his family ever since. Both his wife and his two children, already married, work in Italy. But whenever they come home, I go to their place and invite them to come to church. On the 21st of this month, his wife visited our church. I will never forget Misa's tears of joy. He keeps asking us to pray for his family. So after the church service, I went down to talk to her about the emptiness in her soul that needed to be filled by the Creator. I asked her to come to church whenever she's home and she agreed. That made me and Misa very happy.

I want to say a few more things about the meetings we planned to have in our friends' homes. I have already scheduled two of them at Ivan and Raia's place and another one in Corcesti, at Mr. Traian's, the father of someone in our church. But because of the bad weather, we couldn't drive there and so we rescheduled them for this coming month.

Regarding the ministry in the church, we continue to meet twice a week. Friday is a fasting day and we get together in the evening for a prayer service and have a time for questions related to the Bible. Most of the services on Sundays have an evangelistic purpose. The children couldn't really come to church this month due to the cold. I continue to preach evangelistic messages and strengthen the hope of the brethren regarding the ministry here.

I would like to ask you to pray for my family, me and for the whole church that God will make us more effective and that His kingdom will extend over our village.
