In the beginning of the month we organized an evangelistic outreach with the help of a church from Baniliv village.  They had a group of 23 people including their pastor and an evangelist. We needed a lot of time for preparation and praying for the event. We invited the people from the village to come to church on October 11. We arranged all our chairs in the courtyard of the church as the outreach took place outside. When the group arrived they started to sing. All the neighbors of the church came to see and hear them. Many of them asked us what we were celebrating. We said, "a holiday of grace for you!" Some of them joined those seated in the chairs, while others rested on the fence. Many people came. The music was followed by a sermon. In the end we called people to repentance. A lady who lives three houses away said a prayer of repentance.

Her husband had come several times to church. We learned that she would have left him if he had repented. We were very surprised as she was the only person who repented. After the event I greeted him and he looked scared. I didn't understand why until he told me that he turned to the Lord two weeks before. He didn't tell anyone because he was afraid of his wife. He told me he wanted to confess his repentance. He was surprised that his wife had done it that morning. I believe it was worth it to invite a group once in a while to sing and preach. Praise the Lord!

The same day a family of eleven people returned home from the church and found their home on fire. They lost everything. They were from Cernauti. I asked the church to help them and we gave them clothes and shoes. We prayed for them. They don't have anywhere to live. They have been allowed to stay in the house of the Romanian Churches Mission in Cernauti. Please pray with us for this family. Their oldest daughter is 18, and the youngest son is 3. So far they haven't received any help from the government.

During the second part of the month the swine flu started to spread. The people began to panic. When I tried to talk to them about the Lord they would run away because I did not have a mask on. Some did talk to me, but most of the people were scared.  Please pray for our people during these difficult times.
