For myself and the church May started with a funeral. It was the first one in our church. The deacon, an 80 year old man, went to be with the Lord. He was one of the most active members and a stable minister, always ready to serve others. He used to walk on the muddy streets of the village in the rain, snow, and fog to come to church. Many times I held him up as an example for the younger men who didn't really care for the Lord's ministry. He was one of the founding members. Another minister went to be with the Lord whom we miss. We buried him on May 6th. Many non-Christian neighbors came to the funeral and night-watch. Please pray that the Lord will raise up young ministers to replace him.

As I wrote you last month I visited the Baptist Romanian Church in my home village, Kamenka. Now there is a time of spiritual growth and refreshening in this church. A lot of young people started to attend. The youth had attended the Ukrainian Church because it had been larger and the fellowship and services had been more entertaining. I try to help them by preaching the Word. Please pray with us that this process of spiritual growth will continue.

This month I participated in a 10 day crusade in Harcov county in the north-west of Ukraine which is 1007 kilometers from Cernauti. I went with a group of 14 evangelists, two from Romania and twelve from different towns and villages of Ukraine. I participated in this missionary trip as an evangelist and translator. With the local church we formed 10 groups and went in different areas of the city and county. It was a well organized project and prepared for through fasting and prayer. Therefore, there were pretty good results. We worked for eight days, morning till late in the night. During these days my group paid 30 visits and shared the Gospel with 167 people. 65 of them wanted to receive the Lord. There were cases where the entire family wanted to receive the Lord. We also attended many services in the churches of Harcov county. We visited the Rehabilitation Center for alcoholics and drugs addicts. There the people were open to the Gospel. One of the drugs addicts asked us to visit his parents too. After we had shared the Gospel with his family, his mother and grandfather received the Lord. His grandmother and sister refused to repent.

The results were similar in the other groups too. The other Romanians worked among the Gypsies and entire villages turned to the Lord. The Gypsies started to have a great interest in the Gospel. Please pray that He will use the seed to will bring forth fruit in His own time.

I came home at the end of the month. After a few days of rest with my family, I was able to organize an evangelistic service for the children. We are planning a day camp for the children from the village during the summer. We have less workers this summer because many of the ladies have their own babies. Please pray with us that the Lord will send us workers for the summer camp.

May everything be for the glory of the Lord!
