A successful event was the evangelism on the 8th of March in Buzau. We organized this event with The Grace Church. I rejoiced when those who were invited came with their entire family. The message was one of encouragement. The main subject was the mother's sacrifice and her role in a family. In the end we had a love feast, where we served sandwiches and cookies. We had fellowship and it was wonderful.

We drove with three cars from Pitulicea to Buzau. I had to drive several times because there were too many people. I rejoiced over the presence of a young family from our village. The husband was a former schoolmate of mine. I had invited them to different events and they had come every time. It was interesting that this time they weren't invited. I didn't know how they found out about this event. It was a pleasant surprise for me. They arrived when I started to preach. I had a message about the relationships in the family, the love and the responsibilities of the spouses and the respect toward parents. The message touched my former schoolmate because his father was an alcoholic. He had a terrible childhood. His mother worked hard to support the entire family. Instead his father was always drunk and unruly. When he grew up he started beating his father. He became the one who was abusing his family. Being the only child his parents bought him a car and an apartment in Buzau. Still he beat his father. Even today they have jobs and he takes their money to pay his taxes. His wife doesn't work and they have only one child. During this event this man listened with tears to the Word of God. This was the way God worked.

Another thing that impressed me was that God called me to work with the Gypsies. There was a large Gypsy community in Mizil, a town 20 kilometers from my village. They first gathered in a Pentecostal church. They were disappointed at the discriminatory attitude of the Pentecostal church leadership. They insisted before the Lord. Now they have a beautiful church. They are around 400 members and they don't have a pastor. There is nobody to teach them sound doctrine, church practice, preaching and bible study. I met them at an evangelistic event in Ploiesti and they invited me to their church. I paid them a visit and they asked me to help them on this matter. I didn't promise them anything but I told them that I would think about.  On every Monday evening I went to their church where I had a bible study. We started at 6:00 PM and closed at 9:00 PM. We started a study on the spiritual life from the Sermon on the Mount from Matthew chapter 5-7. Around 25 men attended this meeting. I would not accept pay for this ministry, not even for the gas. This impressed them very much because from their past experience all those that were invited before me asked them for money. They invited me to have supper every time. I went in a room where there lived a family with 7 kids. I ate all that they served me. They saw that I wasn't proud and a hypocrite. They realized that I loved and respected them. I became one of them. I don't know what will come of this but I believe God has a plan with this community and with us, too.

I was also invited to another Gypsy church in Barbulesti village. There I preached and distributed 270 New Testaments and 26 Bibles. No one visited them because they were known for their violence. Two or three persons have died there every year because of the gang fights. Even the police officers were amazed that I went there. I told them that my Boss, who sent me was the greatest. If somebody messes up with me he'll
mess up with my Boss.
We laughed together. In this village lived about 5000 Gypsies. They
started a church a few years ago. Last year the people fought among them and there was a
schism. The pastor and 28 other members have started another church in another part of
the village. Now they are a community of 600 members. In the fall of last year the other body of 400 members decided to build themselves a church building. They finished it on their own expense in three months. This spring they plan to destroy the church in order to build a two story new church, in which there will be enough room for everybody. They had baptismal services when 30 - 40 persons got baptized at once. Therefore they asked for New Testaments and Bibles. The mayor and local authorities are astonished at the change they saw. The crime level dropped low since then. The Gypsies started to build themselves houses and bought cars. God is great!

I continued this month to visit all those that were ill, stricken in age, and unable to come to church.

I pray for a young family because I think God is calling them to become Christians. We became friends and now we are helping each other with diverse works. This month I invited them to a picnic with other Christian families. We had a lot of fun. In the evening we had a holy fellowship. God touched the heart of this family. They were impressed by the worship and the gospel. We sang and prayed together. Back home they became very fervent in the faith. They told their acquaintances the beautiful way the believers had fun, worship and praised God. When we speak on the phone they salute me with "Peace of God" and address me as "brother Marian". I pray God will keep working in their heart and life.

This month we travelled a lot because we went to the general meetings and conferences. I had finished the course lead by John Maxwell which was supported by the Equip organization. It was a three years course. There were good teachers and I have learned many things from them.
