MINISTRY OUTREACH It was a good beginning of the year. God's presence gave me hope. Although the economy of the world is bringing a weight for the people of Romania, I see God's hand encouraging us with His promise: "I am your shield, and exceeding great reward." "We desire a heart that seeks the Lord above all else." On January 4th the students came back to school. They love meeting and spending time together. We hope to have a fast and pray week-end this semester in which the Lord "will hire laborers into His vineyard". We also hope to sow as much gospel seed as possible. We believe in the truth of the proverb: "That he who sows much will gather much". Each Monday evening, we meet for prayer. At the end of January the number of the students who participated one evening was 33. Even during the exam period the students seek the Lord. What was amazing was that new students came, both Christians and non-Christians. Praise the Lord! Daniela is a girl from Turnu Severin. She lives in the room next to Bogdan (about who we wrote you in the previous report). Bogdan met Daniela at the exam they both took at the Police Academy in Bucharest. He is very friendly and invited Daniela to our meetings! She is a brilliant student. One day we went to visit Daniela in her room. We talked about the Lord and I asked her how what she thought of Him. She recounted how she had taken an examination for the Academy and failed. She was angry at the Lord for a while because she wanted to get through the examination so she could provide income for her family. I told her the Lord had something more for her than professional success. Before I left the room I asked her if I could pray and she was glad for me to do that! Please pray for Daniela that the Lord will open her heart for the Gospel! MISSION TRIP TO SERBIA This year the Lord gave me an opportunity to go to Serbia with Sorin P. to visit missionaries Zoran and Lili M., who have planted an evangelical church there. Serbia has many villages where Romanians live. I visited a Romanian family while I there. Although they have two beautiful children, the husband and wife have very serious problems in their marriage. The wife is from Romania, and the husband is from Serbia. I spent time with their children while my friend, Sorin P. discussed with them spiritual things. The man is a non-believer, while his wife attends church. MINISTRY TO THE INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS In our group we have a few medics from India. Please pray that the Gospel will penetrate their heart and many other students will be reached through their conversion. Many of the foreign students who are studying in Romania are from various religious backgrounds. Among them are Catholics, Hindus and Buddhists. While some are saved, they do not attend any church. Because some live with Hindu students, they are spiritually affected. We need the Lord's guidance and grace. Please pray for us, that the Lord will work among them. We visited some who were unsaved and shared with them the Gospel. There is so much darkness in their minds. Lord, give help! PRAYER REQUESTS Please pray for Ani and the children's health as they have recently had a cold. Please pray that we will be good parents for our children! Pray for our children who have started their second semester that they would be a good testimony among their schoolmates. Please pray that God would give us wisdom and enable us to encourage and motivate the students to live for Him. We have a few students who the Lord is drawing to Him. Please pray that they (Bogdan, Claudia, Felicia, Robert) will trust the Lord. We also desire quality time with Him. Often personal, family, and the ministry responsibilities put pressure on us and steal our time in meeting with the Lord.
