Ministry Outreach
The main work which I started the year with was prayer. We had the first week of the year as the week of prayer. We gathered with the entire church each night and had a blessed time. Our Bible study from the Gospel of John was good for us. I aimed at visiting all the members and friends of the church from Pitulicea village as well as the believers from other areas. This brought refreshment for the whole church which was an encouragement to me. I was deeply touched when I realized that all the brothers are facing big problems: financial, health, and family. I paid greater attention to the elder brothers, and especially those who were sick. I even had someone in the hospital that I had to take care of. The next responsibility was a candidate for baptism as I had to teach him in all points. We do not have facilities for such an event so I searched and found help from Maranatha Church in Campina. So on February 1st, 2009, we had the baptism. Another important ministry was finding a house in Florica locality for the church to gather. In Florica we have three believers, but only two remain and they are pretty old. For four years we had a mission in this village where the biggest problem was the orthodox priests and state authorities such as the mayor and the police which were all against us. We thought that if we had a gathering place, we would get an edge over them. In Florica we have authorization for our church. But if these old men go home, it will be very difficult for us to get access to a place of worship. Therefore I started to look for a house, but under cover, for fear that they would not sell us a place for the church. God blessed us and gave us a house. We border on the town hall and the provincial house. The owners of the house died and the successors do not live there. They are not too orthodox and did not care who they sold it to. So I put a down payment on it and signed a contract. I advanced Lei5000 from the total selling price of Lei45000 when I signed the contract on January 17th at the notary public. Only two weeks ago did we plan this and God has already blessed. Today, when I ran into the seller, he shared with me that the priests complained to him because he accepted this settlement with us. If I had not made a fast move, it would have failed. Also in January, we organized at the recommendation of brother Nelu I. from Buzau an evangelistic outreach in Saranga village. We mobilized the entire church and we went there. We started the program at 5 o'clock P.M. and we closed at 11 o'clock P.M. It was a great joy and encouragement for us and for the brothers from that village. There was at one time a non-conformist Pentecostal movement in Saranga. Now it no longer exists. The mother-in-law of brother Nelu was in this movement and two other sisters. For a few months, the brother started mobilizing them for prayer and he scheduled a weekly program. After a while they started to organize other people from the neighboring villages. And now there are seven adults who attend regularly and eight to nine children. The event above had a great impact on them and also on the non-believers. It was a great advantage for the Gospel. PRAYER REQUESTS Please pray with us for the ministry in Saranga that God would provide the necessary money for the house church in Florica. Also, pray for the next evangelistic outreach (I plan to have one a month) and the sick people. My ministry is that of missionary. I want to be more efficient. On the other hand, I pray that God will help me train more leaders and disciples. The future of the ministry in Pitulicea hangs upon the next generation. For this I encourage you to pray for!
