REPORT FROM HOLY TRINITY BAPTIST CHURCH - BUCHAREST

Ministry Report

September has been the first month in the States for school. I am taking five classes, and that requires much reading, writing papers and attending classes. I was especially blessed with the Preaching class that engaged me in studying God's Word more intensive. Another class that is helpful is the Epistemology class, in which we learn how to defend Christian faith.

One major part of my activity has been directed to a project that I have started at the beginning of this semester. It is entirely focused on the HeartCry ministry in Eastern Europe and keeps me involved at a certain level in ministry, even though physically I am far away from the mission field. This project regards prayer, communication with missionaries, discipleship, and visitation of churches.

I have started a prayer group in Louisville with the Romanians that are here. At this point we are just four, but I hope we will come to know more Romanians that can join and pray. We met every week for two hours and we prayed specifically for the HeartCry missionaries.

I have been in touch constantly with at least two coordinators and three missionaries from the field. We use emails and Skype to develop a good communication.

One major part was dedicated in trying to solve the problem of missionary Toma M.. Tens of emails were sent and received from Romania. It was a difficult problem that had to be handled. I have been in many discussions with Moses M. and Florin S., trying to discern what is to be done regarding the lack of success in Toma M.'s ministry and also regarding his character problems.

Another issue that required time and discernment was related to missionary Nicu V. who need to understand the value of accountability. I have been in many discussions with him in order to help him to be accountable to our national coordinator from Romania.

I had good communication with the missionaries from Moldova. They seem to have good progress, especially in Cahul where they dedicated the church building. It is a new stage in which this ministry entered. We pray that God will fill the building.

I also was in constant communication with Zoran M. in Serbia and helped him to stay on the course.

One particular area of my ministry is discipleship. A new student from Romania came to Southern Seminary. I have decided to help him to integrate and to stay close to the Lord. We spent many hours in fellowship and praying. My aim is to help him to get rid of some deceptions that he came with from Romania and find the joy in the Lord and in serving the Kingdom.

Along with Andrei, who was in his first semester, I paid special attention to Dany and Cristi, my two disciples from Romania. They have experienced a major change in their lives. Both went to University and this is a new experience in their lives. Dany is back on our team in Romania, as a Director of Communication, while Cristi took the area of Media. I spent time in training them how to approach the work and what each of them have to do.

Being in the States, I am often invited to travel and speak about HeartCry missions. I had in the summer pastor Jim Elliff visiting Romania with his family. We visited almost all the teams from Romania and Moldova and we had a blessed time in training these teams. I was invited to speak in the congregations that form the church started by Jim Elliff in Kansas city. This is a different kind of developing the concept of church, namely the house churches. There are four congregations in Kanas City, that form a church. All these congregations meet in houses and once in a while they would meet all together. I have visited these congregations in September and I was blessed to see how the Lord is advancing His kingdom in so many ways.

I had a special time with the elders of this congregations, sharing to them how we do ministry in Eastern Europe. Then I had a meeting with all the men from these congregations and I spoke on integrity. I also visited three of these congregations and I shared  about HeartCry ministry and also I preached the Word of God. Two of these congregations are constantly support HeartCry.

The second visitation that I made was in Paducah, KY. I had in the summer a mission team coming from First Baptist Church of Paducah, KY. I was invited to give a report of how the Lord worked in Romania when the team was there and also to preach the Word of God. It was such a blessing to meet again the team that came and helped us in Romania. Then I was blessed to meet Dr. Todd Bradly, the pastor of First Baptist Church of Paducah. He was preparing to go to Romania this fall in order to teach the Gypsies and hold a conference with some Romanian leaders. I helped him with making the schedule and giving him advice of what is the best to do in Romania as he goes there.

Along with these aspects mentioned above, I have been in touch with missions from Poland, and Croatia. We are invited to help the ministry in these countries and I have made some research of possibilities of effectively help these countries.

I also continued to pray and think of planting a new church in Romania. I have made research on the city of Brasov and get in touch with potential team members that would be part of the team that will start this church.

Prayer Concerns

Pray for me as I get closer to the end of this semester.

Pray that my communication with the missionaries will be effective.

Pray that I have wisdom and discernment regarding missionary Toma M..

Pray for my parents who are not saved.

Pray for a great harvest in the missions from Eastern Europe.

Pray that God will give me wisdom in some major decisions regarding the work of HeartCry.

Your Brother,
