God blessed us with His grace this month. It is hard to imagine how we could minister if God did not show His face upon us now and then (Psalm 67). But there are times when we raise our eyes and just like the apostle Peter we said, "it's the Lord!". This is when we receive a fresh boost to continue in the ministry. According to God's will, I tried to "feed the sheep" this month. I discovered quite an interest when visiting the Iordache family. It was as if we had found a Cornelius' family. Their daughter, Andreea, has artistic skills and comes to the kids' programs. The joy she discovered at our church was contagious as she generated interest in her parents and grandmother. When we got to her place we were warmly welcomed. We found out that the change in Andreea amazed her family and raised their interest in the things of God. Like any other family, they have a history of their own. They had dealt with abuse, hardships from addictions such as the death of the grandfather, and needs. We found that the seed of the gospel had been planted by a relative who gave them a Bible. I started to share the gospel with them by reading some excerpts from John. They wrote down the page number of the text in the Bible so that they could read it later. While I was reading, a neighbor of theirs came in for a visit and stayed to hear the word too. They asked questions about tradition, eternal life, church and the soul. It gave me a good opportunity to tell them about the salvation plan. After this time togethe they made the decision to read the Bible. We set up another time to continue to read the gospel of John. Pray for Carmen (the mother), Vaerica (the grandmother), Andreea (the daughter), Adrian (the father) and Cristina (the neighbor). Although Adrian was not home when I was there, I got a phone call from him an hour later. He introduced himself and told me how sorry he was that he had not been there. He asked if we could reschedule the meeting so he could be there. He said he would take a day off work. The meeting will be on June 1. We pray that God will give salvation to this family, just like He once did to the family of the jailer in Phillippi. I will keep you posted about them.
Of the several things that encouraged us this month, let me share one of them with you. It is about one of "the prodigal sons" whose name is Bogdan. After quite a while of struggle and shame, he came back to the Father. His life story has been pretty complicated. His first wife abandoned him and their two children. He then found another woman and they had child together. Bogdan felt burdened by all these things and his sinful life. He came back and asked God to have mercy on him. We pray that his rededication will last.
