We spent New Year's with 25 teens from our mission in Tamasi. The program included a Bible contest, fellowship, praise and worship time, fireworks and food. We all had a wonderful time. Spending the New Year's together has become a tradition. I was with them last year. One of the girls who was there, was baptized later in the year. That encourages me to be with them on special occasions.
I pray that God will give me a ministry vision for our mission area. I bought myself a notebook and I've started to write down the events.
Our church and some of the otherse started to read the whole Bible in a year. We started with Genesis and plan to finish with Revelation in December. I bought myself a new Bible and as I read it, I underline the Scriptures that personally speak to me. It is the Equipping and Edification program that has trained me. I thank the Lord for all the books I received from HeartCry last year. May God reward you and bless you. I promise to stick with it.
Starting this month I will attend three church services each Sunday in Tunar, Orac and Tamasi. We'll do that for several months because winter is a time when people have more spare time. There is a saying, "winter is the summer of the human soul". It is a time when people sit by the fire and read a book.
I asked the youth from Tamasi if they wanted to join me when I went to the three churches. But they said, "will you spend 6 hours at church? it is too much!". I didn't say anything, but when they saw that I spent 6 hours at the church with no problem, they called me and told me they would like to join me. I understood that I had to set an example for them. I usually have to give 2 to 3 rides so that they can all come. It involves a financial effort to reach the missions during the week. I want to visit the people there and have worship services.
I noticed a "fresh wind" in the churches from the mission areas. The young people are more and more motivated for mission work and there are new people coming to church all the time.
This is how the mission schedule looks like: Monday- day off Tuesday - Equipping and Edification program, the ladies ministry Wednesday - visitations and church service in Tunari Thursday - visitation and church service in Orac Friday - visitation and church service in Tamasi Saturday - youth and kids' ministry in Tamasi, men's ministry, one a month in Tunari Sunday : Tunari, Orac and Tamasi.
When brother Don came to Romania, he saw the car God blessed me with. It is pretty reliable and we want to use it for the Lord.
Marius is a 31 year-old young man. He is married and has two children. The younger is 3 years old. He lives in Tunari and comes from an Orthodox family. I met him during a spontaneous visit. He was curious to attend an evangelical church service. When he came, the Word touched his heart and he continued to come. He would come even if he had to work on Sunday night. He simply fell in love with the Lord.
Marius has recently gone through a difficult time. One of his children found some pills in the house and swallowed them. He was in a coma when the ambulance came to take him to the hospital. A few days later, they released him. Marius had to deal with all kinds of accusations, people told him that it had all happened because he came to our church. But he stood firm and faithful. Not long ago another Christian man got a job where Marius works. It is good that Marius has the opportunity now to know more about the Lord at work as well. He is actually attending a Bible study for the people who want to be baptized. We continue to pray for him and his family. Please pray for them too.
We couldn't make it to the nursing home this month. They had to deal with some changes due to the crisis.
I gave out 47 Christian magazines, 10 Bibles, 15 New Testaments, 100 tracts, and 50 Christian calendars. I offered them to 50 families, teachers, doctors, nurses and friends.
I had a wonderful experience with a teacher where two of my kids study. She was known to be 'a mean' teacher. I gave her a Bible and calendar as a gift. She was very excited to get a Bible. She had wanted one for a long time. A few days later, my son, Daniel, told me that the teacher asked him to write a few Bible words as an encouragement for the school's newspaper. I was so happy when I heard that.
We continued to have the ladies meetings in Tamasi. They are now studying about the women in the Bible. I always encourage the women to attend these meetings. Since they started to get together the fellowship and their relationships have improved. There are around 10 women who meet together on a regular basis. One of the ladies left for Spain to work there. We want to have a a meeting with all the women from the mission area every 3 months.
