After a very busy month of December that was filled with many events and activities, we slowed down in January as the students are in the month of exams and very busy studying. This gave us more time to start planning the evangelistic ski camp, February 14th-19th. Over the years the Lord has wonderfully used these camps to bring students to Himself. We pray and expect the Lord to powerfully work this year too! Very encouraging was the day we put up posters in several Universities advertising the camp. Several hours later we got a phone call from a student who was interested in coming with some friends. We don't get very many phone calls from students who see the posters because when they read "Evangelical Students" most of them are afraid that we are a cult.

Most of the unbelievers attending the camps are colleagues of the Christian students and being that they know them give the unbelievers some courage to come with an evangelical group. Also, very encouraging was the fact that about two weeks ago, a non-Christian girl came to our worship meeting because she had heard about the camp from a friend and was interested in attending. She came this week to our meeting and has been listening very carefully to the Bible message. After the meeting she asked one of our girls some questions. May the Lord continue to draw her to Christ and grant her saving faith in Him.

Because we do not have as many meetings and activities as during the semesters, I used the time to translate some good tracts from brother Charles Leiter, such as, "Lies College Students Hear", "Are There No Absolutes?", and "What Then Shall I Do with Jesus?". These are excellent apologetic articles for college students and we posted them on our new website. We pray that many students will read them and start thinking about these spiritual matters.

In the last weeks I got to meet with some girls who were involved in OSCEB in their college years. One of them became a Christian through one of the ski camps years ago. They graduated and live in the States now from where they came to visit their families for Christmas. I rejoiced greatly when I saw how much the Lord has grown and matured them over the years! They were filled with the desire to follow the Lord and to do His will in their lives! Seeing them, I felt (certainly in a much smaller degree) what the apostle John felt when he wrote, "For I rejoiced greatly when the brothers came and testified to your truth, as indeed you are walking in the truth. I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the truth." 3 John 3-4.  This was all the more encouraging, as I also have heard of the bad reports about others who are not walking with the Lord anymore, and this is so sad. May the Lord keep us all in His grace!

In December we were invited to share about our work among the college students in the youth meeting of our church. As I shared before, some of the young people from the church joined us in our outreach in the dorms in December. We not only shared about evangelism, but also about discipleship, and some of our students shared how the Lord had used these small groups to mature them spiritually. So at the beginning of this year one young lady in our church told me she wanted to meet with me because she would like to start a discipleship group with other girls who were younger in the faith. So I gave her some materials about discipleship. Then we met and talked about what the Bible teaches, that older women are to teach the younger women and help them mature. This is really great, and very needed among the young people. Many of them have had nobody to receive good biblical counsel from. They go to their friends, who are their age and probably have the same problems, and do not get real help.

I continue meeting with the girls I disciple and I am so glad to see their desire to learn the Word of God and grow in the knowledge of the Lord and in obedience. We studied the book of Romans and one group got to chapter 10. Talking about the sovereignty of God, I realized how little is this doctrine preached. Although many of the things were new for the girls, they are very willing to learn. I also met with a girl who started coming to our church. She comes from a different city and it has been very difficult for her because she doesn't know many people. It is so easy when people come from a smaller town into a big city to be drawn away from the fellowship of other believers and God. We pray that the Lord will raise up many godly men and women who will be involved in other people's lives and able to help mature the younger generations.
