We stared the evangelism project with the HeartCry missionaries this month again. This time we had fourteen missionaries from four mission areas, Fieni, Pucioasa, Buzau, Oltenia. We spent two days working in three places, Fieni (town), Costesti (village) and Pietrosita (village). We handed out Christian literature and something with our church's contact information. Our purpose was to reach these areas with the gospel. We were able to talk and share the gospel with the people we met on the streets.
A few people seemed to be interested. I am still in touch with them and hope they'll continue to be more receptive and eventually follow Christ. There are many people who believe to a certain point, but feel more discouraged when they face the persecution from their families and friends.
We made up teams of two people and went out on the streets of Fieni to preach the gospel to the people who were willing to listen. I realized people would stop to hear us, but they soon lose their interest when hearing about spiritual matters, especially when they have to assume some responsibilities.
The plan for our area is to plant the seed of the Word in Fieni and the neighboring villages. After handing out the tracts, we will wait to see the results. After we finish this ministry, we will approach a different working strategy.
Out of 13 villages that we are attempting to reach, we've already covered 5 of them. We hope to be able to cover them by the end of the year.
I was also involved in the ministry of discipleship for the new converts. I also managed to visit some church members who needed moral and spiritual support. I spent some time doing administrative work and made evangelistic visits to friends. We had a special fellowship with the whole church on Easter. We learned new things that strengthened our faith.
