Dear brothers and sisters, Each time I start writing to you, I feel overwhelmed with joy when I look back and see God's grace manifested in our life and ministry. This is the result of your prayers and constant dedication in supporting our ministry.
Our first week of November was spent in Hungary where we've been on a trip with pastor Rice, Mary, and one of Trisha's sisters. After being in a conference in Estergom and spending a week with the church, we went to a camp with part of the church members. It was a training camp. I shared two messages to the young people, while pastor Rice spoke to the adults and held the evening meetings. Things are moving well with the start of the new church plant in the city of Brasov. The Lord blessed us with good messages during the entire month. Alex P., John T. and I share in the preaching in the meetings, but we also involved some young preachers like Julian and Ionut that would give short messages for the prayer time. I just feel blessed to have these men around me and see how God speaks to us. We have an elders meeting once a week when we come to pray together and share from God's Word. We also discuss issues about ministry and plan future events. We organized two evangelistic events. One was the Thanksgiving Day. My wife, Trisha, has prepared a traditional American meal of Thanksgiving, for which we invited five Christian families. Three of the families invited a family of unbelievers, so we had 16 people for this meal. It was a wonderful time when six unbelievers were able to see how Christians celebrate. We do not have a national holiday of Thanksgiving, but these families were happy to answer our invitation. This was our first evangelistic event. We each shared some things for which we are thankful and I shared the Gospel with the whole group. The second evangelistic event was a youth meeting when we had five teenagers in our church who invited friends from their schools to come. We organized this Saturday meeting for them so that they could come to spend some time. We had some games and carols and prepared a meal for them. Two of the teenagers seemed excited and interested in coming back (Alex and Tudor). Please pray for them. Trisha began to extend her network of relationships. The doctor to whom Trisha goes for her pregnancy asked her to tutor her son with some English classes. Trisha was happy to help One day, I met a neighbor from our block. He is close to my home area. We speak the same dialect (the Transylvania dialect). It is easy to recognize it. So we enjoyed talking a couple of times. This time I approached him and told him that I was a minister. I asked him about his spiritual life and shared with him some aspects of the Gospel. He promised me that he would come with his wife to our meetings. Last Sunday, they attended our Sunday night meeting and were so excited that they said they would continue to attend. His wife used to attend the Penticostal church, but she stopped going. This month we had some new students coming to the meetings. One of them is Mariana. She is a student at Transylvania University where she began attending the Campus Crusade meetings on campus. Last Sunday she came for the first time to our meeting. Almost every meeting we have some new people who come. Some return and some don't, but we are thankful for a great dynamic for this beginning of our church plant. We praise God for His grace in leading us in this vision of planting a church in Brasov. Please continue to pray for our church. We have planned some evangelistic events for Christmas and we want to invite other families to come. One aspect that we want to develop is to have good and spiritual families in our church. Thank you for your faithfulness and generosity. We pray that God will reward your love and effort for supporting missions in Romania.
