Our goal this month was to visit most of the families of the children who come to our kids' program on Saturdays. This ministry has been such an encouragement both in Pucioasa and Varfuri. There are two aspects I want to share with you. First, God gave us the joy and comfort to see that our time invested in the kids bore fruit. We've been pursuing that ever since we planted the church. Together with the team here, we're working with almost 50 kids from Pucioasa and Varfuri. We continue to meet with the kids in the city hall building in Varfuri. That made things easier and parents were not suspicious. We have had a series of evangelistic lessons with the older kids (12-14 years old). They seemed to understand their situation without Christ and we witness the Holy Spirit working in some of them. A girl, Iulia, wanted to talk to us after the Bible lesson. With tears in her eyes, she told me that she believed God was upset with her because of her sins. She also said she wanted to be like us. That was a special moment when she asked God to forgive her of her sins and invited Christ into her life. Georgiana, Ancuta, Roxana, Ana-Maria and Stefania did the same on different occasions. When we visited them, we were happy to hear their parents telling us about the changes in their lives Secondly, visiting the children at their places brought a new perspective and a new dynamic when it comes to evangelization. People like Irina, Vali, Ion, Adriana, Valeria , Beatrice and Carmen not only encourage their children to come to church on Saturday but they also seemed interested themselves in drawing near to the Word of God. They told us that they have started to read the Bible together with their children. And just like the Ethiopian eunuch they were interested to know more. We can say it was God who had prepared these meetings in advance, atleast with the above mentioned people. There is this situation with a family here, the Iordaches. Last year they had a loss in their family which made them to be sensitive to the need of their souls. Also, their daughter Andreea started to attend our program for kids which increased their interest especially because Andreea told them about what she learned (we are now studying the lesson series You Need a Savior). When I went to visit them, they were ready to hear the gospel and they expressed their desire to attend a Bible study. I have this feeling that "the vines are blooming" and there's going to be plenty of fruit for His kingdom. When we hear about several people who have started to read the Bible, we see people with tears in their eyes while sharing their burdens with us and admitting that they should start a new life like children, we cannot but praise the Lord for what He does. On the other hand I continued to meet with the new converts, Cristina, Adina, Emi, Robert and Elisabeta. We do a Bible study together to prepare them for baptism. Other weekly activities include orchestra lessons (our church's method to challenge new people to be involved in ministry), Bible study for discipleship with the youth and preaching the gospel on a regular basis at the community home.
