I continued to meet with Florin for discipleship. He came to know the Lord not long ago. He lived with us for a short while which was a good opportunity for me to teach him more from the Word. When he went back home he shared the Gospel with his mother and brother. They asked him to read them the Bible. They also prayed together. His brother started to read the Bible himself and his mother is fairly receptive, but she doesn't want to attend the same church Florin does.

We had the summer evangelistic project for students.  Some of the unbelieving students had never been to campus meeting before. They were from Brasov, Iasi, Cluj, Bucharest, Galati and Sibiu. They responded very well regarding the teaching on personal growth which led to sharing the Gospel with them. Genuine personal growth can only happen when God regenerates a person.
I talked to V, the student from Brasov, about God again and he told me he no longer felt like spending time with his non-Christian friends. He longed to spend time with Christians. When Ionut and I shared the Gospel, he felt drawn to God, but he continued to live in immorality. When I heard that, I started to share about sin and regeneration with him again. I told him that a born-again person hated sin and read the Bible. Before I left, he said, 'I realize now that I don't have a personal relationship with God. You got me thinking..."

P is a student in Cluj. His mother died and his father is a teacher. He had never come to one of our meetings before the summer project. I talked to him about God. He never denied God's existence. On the contrary, he tried to be a good man by living a moral life. What I saw in him was the philosopher. From that point on, I started to tell him the Gospel. Another missionary joined in and said a few more things. By the end, the student said, "I'll do some serious thinking about that."

One day, while we were having lunch, I joined four unbelieving students. Two were from Sibiu, one from Cluj and another from Iasi. Only two of them had previously attended our meetings. I shared my personal testimony with them of how God changed mine and my wife's lives. I went on by telling them the Gospel. One of the students was really touched in her heart and we talked a little more about God. She was very impressed and told me she had never heard such things in the Orthodox church.

Polina is the student from Iasi. She is originally from the Republic of Moldova.  The night she joined the discussion group, she seemed to be very self-confident and had a strong personality. A few days later, after hearing the spectacular testimonies of some people, I could see a change in Polina. She seemed to be more serious, more humble and ready to hear about God. I had the opportunity to share my personal testimony with her.

Mariana, the student that came with us from Brasov, said that this project made her understand that she needed to stop living an immoral life and get right with God. This time was a good opportunity to teach Florin to wake up early in the morning and start the day with prayer. A few other people joined us.

I got very sick during this project. Soon after that, I received the news that my parents' village had been flooded and many houses were destroyed. My parents' house was also flooded.

I took some of the students who were willing to help and went over to my parents' to help them. We had a wonderful time there. God healed me and gave me strength so that I could drive and work. It was also an opportunity to be a good testimony for the ones who didn't know the Lord. I was happy to have a deep conversation about Jesus with my parents. God is working in my father's heart. He used to believe that it all came because of he evolution. Now he believes that it is God who keeps all things at which he is actually amazed with. The sad thing was that the Orthodox priest would not challenge other people to help those in need. My father became more aware of people's wickedness and the deceitfulness of the Orthodox religion. He said he wanted to do good to the ones who did evil or cursed him. He told me that he, as mayor, helped the people, but the priest did nothing for them but expected things from them. Sadly, the people love the priest.

Pray for the salvation of my parents.
