At the end of last month we had a team of puppeteers who went to the schools in our area. It was a good opportunity to get in touch with different families. We had more kids coming to our programs after the event. It gave us the possibility to send more children to the summer camp that we will have during the third week in June. The kids will be exposed to the truths of the Bible. We are in the process of inviting many to come and hopefully we will see God work on our behalf in Pcuioasa and Magura.
Another activity related to the kids is what we do in the school in Varfuri. We began having Bible lessons and taking Christian literature there last fall. God has blessed this ministry. All the kids in the school will get a Bible during the closing festivity at the end of this school year. We know that the truth planted in their hearts will someday bear fruit. The two teachers we've been working with are always there when we come and they listen to the message of the Gospel. Last time we were there, I noticed an increased interest. They thanked us for what we were doing for the kids. We knew it was God who opened their hearts (just like the midwives in Egypt). I urged them to read the Bible and receive the truth. We hope our work hasn't been in vain.
I got to meet Alex again. I used to teach him guitar lessons but he quit because of the peer pressure. It is so obvious that God is after him with His love. There is a strange anxiety in his heart. I realized that his reason to go out with his friends was to ignore what he has understood about God's calling. I wonder when God will take Alex out of this wicked world.
We continued to work on the building. Although it is exhausting work, our desire is to be able to lay the concrete floor. This would allow us to begin several activities this coming fall (music lessons).
My family and I had one-week of vacation in Greece. It was a good time for us as a family as we talked about the Apostle Paul's ministry, the Thessalonian Christians and the Bereans. All these were very interesting, especially for Alexia, as she loves new information. I know she'll not forget any of these things.
