Preaching Activity

The Church in Vurpar, Sibiu

On April 2 a.m., I led the prayer moment and then preached from John 19: 17-20. The title of the sermon was "The Words of Jesus on the Cross". I presented practical applications in our daily life. We had communion in the church and I went up to a lady's house and gave her the communion too.

On April 2 p.m. I preached from Hebrews 10:19-22. The title of the message was "The Removal of the Curtain". I insisted on the fact that we had to get into God's presence because the curtain of   
the temple split in two proving free access to the Holy of the Holies.

The church in Racovita, Sibiu

On April 5 a.m., I preached from Colossians 3:1-4, "What's Coming after the Resurrection". I emphasized the reality of a new life which could be identified by the words ".....  I no longer live, but Christ lives in me" (Galatians 2:20). The Holy Spirit touched hearts and I was glad.

Bethany Church, Sibiu

On April 5, p.m., as the coordinator of the kids ministry in the church, together with the kids, we had a special program for Easter.  Then I preached from Colossians 3:1-4, "What's Coming after the Resurrection". The people's testimonies confirmed the spiritual impact my message had upon them.

Emmanuel Church, Rosia- Sibiu

On April 18 p.m., together with a group of kids from Bethany Church, I had a program having as the topic "Job's Suffering and Patience." Then I preached from 1 Peter 2:21-24. The title of the message was "The Meaning of Suffering". I explained how we should look at the trials God put us through.

Bethany Church, Sibiu

On April 22, p.m., I led the Bible study based on Revelation 3:7-13. The title of the message was "Philadelphia, the Church of Spiritual Reforms".  I gave practical application to our present day
church and generation. I am happy to say that the church was spiritually edified.

Emmanuel Church, Rosia- Sibiu

On April 25, a.m., I preached from Luke 4: 14-21. It was about Jesus' statement in the synagogue
from Nazareth, Jesus being the solution to all man's sins.

The Church in Vurpar, Sibiu

On April 25, p.m., I preached from Psalm 1. It was about the righteous man versus the sinful man.
I emphasized the behavior of the righteous, his prosperity and the practical aspect of day-by-day
life.

Didactical Activities

As the president of the Sunday School teachers community in the area of Sibiu, I made the
preparations for the Bible Contest for kids. It will take place on June 5 in Sibiu. I got in touch via e-mail with the teachers. I told them to bring the kids to the contest. I am still working on the things we need (tests, diplomas, medals) for the contest.

Equipping and Edification Program Activities

I read the book "Men Who Met God" by A.W. Tozer (104 pages) and I underlined the important passages. Also, I posted my answer for March on the forum (For a Deep Relationship with God)


TESTIMONY

I have known Stefan for more than 30 years. As a preacher, his sermons were always looked forward to even during a time when the church services were strictly supervised by the Communists and the preachers were censored.

Then, as a Sunday School teacher for kids, he organized and led this ministry all over the country. His visits were supervised and the didactical material could only get here illegally. Handing them out was totally against the law, one had to risk not only his own freedom but his family's as well.

Many generations of young people grew up under the influence of the Bible teaching and the systematic studies about the fundamental Bible truths taught during the youth meetings in the summer camps.

As the president of the Sunday School Teachers Baptist Association, brother Stefan, laid a biblical and organizational foundation, but he also led coordinated and prepared Sunday School teachers within the school program affiliated with the Baptist Theological Seminary in Bucharest. This ministry is still going on today too. I personally taught some of the classes for a few years. They had many of the preparation classes both in our country and abroad, training teachers for different churches.

As a preacher of the Gospel, he was often invited to preach in Philadelphia Church, Sibiu and Grace Church, Cristian. Both of these churches are where I minister. To a great extent, he contributed to the spiritual growth of the church, always having well-prepared and adequate messages for the life of the church and himself.

For me personally, he is an example to follow . His studies for the youth and sermons had an impact on me. I became a teacher, and then, a preacher. The advice given by Paul to Timothy "and the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable men who will also be qualified to teach others", has been very much reflected in the life and ministry of brother Stefan. He has had disciples who had their disciples, becoming preachers of the Gospel....
