When I got back from vacation, I organized an evangelistic event for our church. We had a group of young people who were invited to praise the Lord. We had previously prepared for this event by inviting people to come and pray. As usual, many people came and besides singing, they heard the Word being preached. The gospel was clearly preached so that they could all understand it.
Another important event in July was the baptism service we had down at the river in Craceni. There were four people who were supposed to be baptized. But we had an unpleasant surprise the very day of the baptism.
One of the ladies was sick (she usually does dialysis) and we didn't want to take that risk. Two other people had been visited by their relatives the night before the baptism and they were talked out of getting baptized. Eventually, only one person was baptized. His wife, daughter and son-in-law were there, they had long prayed for him to make this step.
Many of us were able to attend this event because I made sure too provide transportation. I did my best to bring as many people as possible to witness such an important event.
We had a youth group as our guests from Arad and a great evangelist who preached the gospel powerfully.
At the end, we had a great joy, not only because of the gentleman who got baptized but also because other people made a decision for the Lord. They've been coming to church ever since.
Regarding the impediments of our ministry, we are facing resistance from some people who compare us to the dissident church in our area. Those people say they're Christians but they don't live like it. The people from the world can't see the difference and say we are all the same. We pray that God will work in this area too.
This very issue also brought opportunities to preach the gospel. May times I get to talk to people and try to explain them that we don't promote sin in our church. On the contrary, we stick to the Bible that commands us to turn away from worldly lusts.
Even though we face resistance from the evil one, which I believe is normal, our joy as a church is that we can enjoy God's grace more than other times. We can see God adding new people and some of our friends started to attend the church. Of course, we still long for a great revival. We are aware of the need of prayer and service from others in our church. And I know that personally I have to be more active when it comes to preaching the gospel in and outside the church.
Regarding the visitation schedule, it is the same. On Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays I do visitations, I share with people and lead the church services.
