Adventure English Camp
I leave the camp with the thought that I'm not a good person. In the camp I learned what I need to do to be closer to God. Linda
This camp got me closer to God and helped me get out of the wrong path I was on. I hope God will not let me go back to my normal life, but help me get to know Him better and better.
Adi
I was shocked by the clip from the TV show 'The moment of truth'. I learned man is evil in his earthly nature. Only God is good in the real sense of the word. He gives us the certificate to get into heaven.
Cati
I leave the camp thinking about my priorities. We can keep the traditions without really having God as first priority. To what extent am I willing to give up everything for Him?
Otniel
I learned that God sent His Son for our sins to save us from the penalty of sin which is death. Jesus Christ died for all of us but only those who accept Him as Lord and Savior will spend eternity with Him.
Andrei
I learned to be more humble, more attentive to what I say and how I approach the others around me. My self-righteousness hinders me to see God more clearly. I prayed that God would cleanse me of these lies. I thought our good deeds get us closer to God, to heaven, but the movie 'Pilgrims' Progress' showed me it's only through the blood of Jesus.
Gabi I leave the camp with thoughts of peace and war. This camp marked another era in my life, the era of God! I leave this place with one single thought ... to find God!

These are some of the things that the students said after the evangelistic Adventure English Camp we had in the Apuseni mountains during July 22-28. We had a wonderful time of fellowship in the Word, on the hikes, playing games and serving others by cooking, washing dishes, helping out with whatever was necessary for the camp. We thank God for His protection while travelling by trains and buses, during the hikes and the zip-line day. Most of all we are thankful that He worked in the students' hearts. In my group discussion there were two of the unbelievers who came with us to the camp. God worked powerfully in one of them during the whole camp. Her colleague told me that before the camp she had very good discussions with her about spiritual things. She was in our midst for the first time and the camp was too much for her in many ways. After each of the Bible discussions and the Gospel presentation, she went to her room alone and cried as she realized she is not a good person and needs Jesus Christ for the salvation of her soul. Her colleague talked to her after every Bible discussion, further explaining the Gospel to her. She left the camp with the thought that she needs to decide about Jesus Christ for her life. Please pray that she would read the Bible and the tracks she received from us. Please pray for the salvation of her soul, that she will let go of the present sinful life and start a new life in Christ.
We had three Bible discussions. The first one was from John 4 about true worship and Jesus as our only source of fulfilment in life. The second study was from Mark 7 about vain worship, man's sinfulness and the separation between man and God because of sin. The third was from 2 Corinthians 5 about the cross, that through His death, Christ saved us from the power and the penalty of sin. We also had a Gospel presentation that was very powerful to all of us. Mike spoke about the rich young ruler who thought that he was good enough for heaven. Mike used a clip from the TV show "The moment of truth" with a lady who answered very private questions abouther life, confessing to her husband, her family and to the world some major sins she did during her 26 years, but she failed the easy question, "are you a good person?", as she said 'yes'. The clip was shocking to all of us. Her life was destroyed after attending this TV show. How easy we as people can believe these lies about ourselves, that we are good people, deserving God's presence. But there is hope as God sent Jesus to save us from our sin and give us salvation by grace alone. Mike spoke about the need of repentance and faith, that we must have our lives centered in God, that He must be our no. 1 priority. We had a group discussions after Mike's message and we talked a lot about that. I also told them two tests they can apply to their lives to see if Christ is really their entire life. First I asked them, "how would you feel if you get into heaven and there you have absolutely everything your soul desires the most (friends, family, sports, things, etc), but Jesus is not there? Would that be an awful thing to you? Would you find heaven an awful place to spend eternity?" Second test that I gave them was, "where are your thoughts wandering when you don't do anything, when you have free time? Is your thought life centered in God? Do you naturally think of God and spiritual things? The things that you think about the most, are the things that are your priorities, the things that you care most about."
I also had very good discussions with the other unbeliever from our Bible study group. One of his questions was why do we still sin if Christ died for our sins? How can we get rid of the power of sin? I shared with him the doctrines of justification and regeneration that flow from the cross of Christ. I challenged him to let God search his heart and bring him to repentance. As we went through the passage from 2 Corinthians 5:20-21, I stressed the fact that the apostle Paul was begging people to be reconciled with God. This student came with his girlfriend to the camp and she was very open to hear the Gospel. Please pray for these two students, that they will seek God and let the Word planted in their hearts bring forth the fruits of repentance and faith.
I really liked the community of the Christian students that attended this camp. They were very nice people who were very eager to serve others, learn spiritually and to know God better. One evening we had the apologetic evening and my discussion theme was One Truth or Many? We discussed about what moral relativism is, its deadly consequences to the individual and society, and that the Bible is truly the Word of God, the only book that has the power to change every life. God is the Author of the Bible and it's a supernatural Book. Another evening we saw the movie Pilgrims Progress, after John Bunyan's book, and it had a lot of impact in our lives. We saw once again that salvation is by faith alone. It is not by works, but is based on the cross of Christ. And that the Christian life is a continual fight through suffering and trials, but we will get to the Celestial City by God's grace, through His power.
The weather was quite rainy and cold most of the time, so we couldn't play sports as much as we wanted. However, God gave us a good sunny day when we did one of the hikes. It was a wonderful hike and seeing God's creation was breathtaking to me. We visited two caves and went through a long steep canyon where a river went by. The sightseeing was extraordinary and everybody enjoyed it. I long to spend more time alone with God in the midst of nature. It's so inspiring! We left in the morning and got back late in the evening. We were very tired but happy about the day we spent in the nature God created.
On our way back to Bucharest we travelled by train all night long. On the train God gave me the opportunity to share the Gospel with a reformed Hungarian man who had very many questions about God, the Bible and spiritual matters. We talked for hours! He knew some things but he was confused about many others. I read to him from the Bible and explained some passages about the Gospel. He was quite hungry to hear about God and he asked me questions until 4:00 a.m. Please pray for his salvation.
