The Beginning of our 'Migration' to Brasov!

My favorite Bible book lately has been Genesis. The lives of the patriarchs are a personal inspiration for me as they were strangers and travelers in the very promised country for them and their descendants. Through faith in God, Abraham was able to see another county where there would be no sin or its consequences.
I often thought of this question, "where am I from?". I was born in a village somewhere in the central part of Romania close to Campulung Muscel. I moved to Curtea de Arges when I went to high school. I then lived in Bucharest for the following ten years (college, I worked as a doctor for one year and three years as a missionary). Then I moved to Brasov and lived there for two years. After that, I moved to Timisoara and spent 11 years. And now, we are coming back to Brasov for the years to come. My next questions are, "what is God going to do in our lives in the coming years?", "how will we get to know Him better?" and "how is He going to use us in the lives of others?" We have hopes for the future and not because of ourselves or our society, but because the Lord is on our side. We have placed our hope in Him. He is worthy of our trust.

HOW ARE WE RIGHT NOW?

We moved out of Timisoara. God helped us get all of our things from Timisoara and take them to our parents'. After a long day of loading the truck and a tiring trip, we made it to our parents around 12:00 a.m.. We unloaded that night until 2 am. Together with our parents we carried all our things from the truck. We no longer had the friends from Timisoara to help us. And we had no one to ask to help us in the middle of the night. We are now at my parents close to Campulung. Ani has made a selection of our luggage because we only want to take the necessary stuff back with us to Brasov. You can't imagine how many things one can store up in 10 years!

We'll have an evangelistic and medical project in the area of Fagaras and afterward we'll try to find ourselves a place to live in Brasov.

Our students are either back home or abroad to make some money for the school year to come. We keep in touch with them and we're happy to see God working in their lives where they are. Bogdan is in France, Robert is in Greece and Flavius in the States.

THE LAST MEETING WITH OUR ROMANIAN STUDENTS FROM TIMISOARA

We had our last meeting with the students on the occasion of our son's birthday. We invited all those who were still around and rejoiced together before moving out. We recalled 15 years ago when Flavius became part of our family. We had celebrated the event back then with the students as well. Those were precious memories.  I think we'll have a celebration in heaven as well and recall the good times. But unlike here, we'll never have to be apart any more.

A MEETING WITH THE FOREIGN INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS BEFORE THEY LEFT ON VACATION

The end of exams for the medical students was on July 6. We had a party for them to celebrate God's help in their lives. It was a good time with a lot of encouragement. They've already made plans to visit us in Brasov.

THE REFUGEES FROM SRI LANKA

There is a social center for refugees here in Timisoara. Many foreigners pass through this place before immigrating to other countries. It is an opportunity for us to invite them to our church. We also have Bible studies in homes and there are people who can translate from Romanian into English. We had a group of people from Sri Lanka who came to the morning church service.

MAIA, A MIRACLE FROM GOD!

Maia is the daughter of some friends of ours from Timisoara. I mentioned them to you about a year and a half ago. She is the second child in their family. Before she was born, the doctors diagnosed her with a serious brain problem. For many parents, this is quite an issue, as it is a hard thing too deal with. But our friends' faith, the church's prayers and yours made it possible for little Maia to not have any unusual behavior even though she lacks Corpus callosum (a component of the brain's white matter). God is with us and He performs miracles. It takes faith to abandon ourselves in His hand. That is when we can experience God's miracles. Let's keep praying for Maia so that she can grow normally and that God will use her to extend His kingdom. Our children love her a lot. They say "she is a miracle little girl"

A BEAUTIFUL WEDDING

It was wonderful to be able to attend our friends', Sorin and Trisha, wedding. She is from the States and he is from Romania. We wish them a happy marriage. They are going to live in Brasov where we will be working together for God's glory. Pray for Trisha to be able to learn Romanian fast and not have the depression that usually comes with moving out to a different country and culture.
