The missionary adventure started to be appealing. We started to see our decision to move to Brasov and work there from a different perspective. After a 9 hour ride, we got to Brasov. The next morning we went and enrolled Flavius for school - he has to take some tests to get there (The German High School). It all went well. Then we had to meet with the principal so that he would sign some papers for Rebeca.
I had already met him a month before, back then he told us everything was OK. But now, he seemed to have a different opinion. It's been hard for us for a few moments but we saw God at work. He eventually signed those papers. We hope that Flavius will get to study in the same school as we really want them both to be in school together. Pray that God will protect us from evil attacks so that we can be totally available for the ministry in Brasov.
Another adventure is for us to find an apartment in Brasov. Also, pray that we will find some tenants for our apartment in Timisoara. We desperately need God's help in this area. Please pray for us. Sometimes we feel tired and attacked by the devil.
We've been away with a mission project for two weeks. While I was there, I got sick, felt very weak and had strong headaches. On June 29 we got back to Timisoara. Our house is full of boxes, we can hardly find anything. I tried to work on the computer the other day but it broke down. I am telling you all this just to let you know how we are as a family. It's a transition and it's just the beginning. Please pray for us.
We do our best to have a devotional time every morning. Ani loves to have her own time with the Lord. I've been reading Jeremiah. There were hard times back then both for the people and the prophet. God's Word was not accessible for all of them, people could not discern His voice and message and they were attracted by all the false religion. They too were caught up in the financial and religious corruption and no longer heard what God was telling them through Jeremiah. They preferred staying in the country instead of surrendering themselves to the Babylonians to be their slaves.
Evangelism Project with medical teams - June 19 - 26, Oltenia
God reminds us not to forget about orphans, widows and the poor. The medical evangelistic project that we had with the people from US covered 5 villages, Oltenia: Drobetu, Vulpeni, Bailesti, Giubega and Plosca. Many people we visited were very poor and lonely. Even though some of them had kids, they were away. We've seen a lot of suffering and many needs.
Let me share with you a few stories:
I talked to a gentleman who had 4 children and lived with one of his daughters. The other three were away. His wife had broken a bone but they didn't have the money for the surgery. She was home, bed-ridden, and he was the one to feed her. They could not even afford to buy a wheel-chair so she could go outside. He had tears in his eyes while he was sharing that with me. I took his contact information and will try to help him. I have a friend who has some wheel-chairs and I will try to send him one. It will definitely make his wife's life easier.
Another lady came to us and told us that she had two children and both had died. One of them was killed in a car crash and the other one died from a disease. She was sad and lonely.
In one of those villages, we had two ladies coming right before we left. They came to have some of their teeth removed. We wanted to leave but it was always hard to tell people that we could no longer stay. They had many patients that day. The doctors were all tired, but we all felt bad when we had to say no to people. The dentists eventually made the decision to help them. Before leaving, the ladies didn't have enough words to thank them. They felt that grace meant to receive something you don't deserve. We were happy for them, for all of the patients. There were usually 40-50 people a day to see the dentists and around 200-300 people to see the other doctors and get medicines.
