Along with Sorin P., I went down to the student campus. We were supposed to meet with Alex but he never showed up. It seemed that we could not find anyone to talk to. God listened to our prayers and we got to meet Dragos, a freshman. He told us he only had 10-15 minutes to talk. There were two more guys in his room, Alin (senior) and Cosmin (freshman). We were introduced to both of them. Alin was standing by the window and he kept having fun as we were talking. Then the two of them started to talk about the immoral relationships they had had with some girls. When I heard that, I started to tell them about the Bible's perspective on relationships. I must confess it hasn't been easy. But as I was talking, I felt the power of the Holy Spirit and they all became silent. These guys got silent, no more laughter or mocking word could be heard while I was telling them about the judgement of their sins. Later on Sorin told me that Alin stood gaping. While we were talking, another person dropped by whose name was Florin. They all said they'd be interested in hearing more and would love for us to come back. That very day I had prayed because I was feeling weak. The day before I had been in one of the dorms and a student said he wanted to stay just like he was, living a sinful life of rebellion. Both Sorin and I could feel the spiritual oppression. So I said "Lord, how am I going to talk to these young people if I don't have Your power". And He did clothe me with His power. Iulian came to know Christ through campus ministry. He got baptized a few months ago. His parents started to persecute him. We went out to talk with other students on campus. When we got to dorm 9, we met Razavan and his roommate there. Razvan was perceptive in hearing about spiritual things. As we were talking to him and his roommate there was another guy in the room (he lived there too) walking back and forth. He looked pretty impressive. All of a sudden he lit a cigarette and went outside. Then he came back eaves dropping on what we were saying. A short time later another guy came in and left quickly. Then they both came in. One of them sat down right in front of us, while I was talking to Razvan. He asked us, "what's your religion?" "Are you Orthodox?" I told him I wanted to finish the conversation with Razavan and the other guy. Then the one with an impressive look told us with arrogance in his voice, "who are you to come and teach us? You are nothing but homosexuals and sectarians. I do what I want to do, each has his own faith. Now leave, I want to change my clothes." Then he dashed at Razvan and wanted to hit him. Whe we saw that, we left the room. Razvan and his friend were silent as they were afraid of their other roommate. Those two guys were threatening them. Please pray that God will have mercy on these people I went all by myself into the dorms. In one of the rooms, I met Ferencz and Iulian, both students at the PE College. When we got to talk about God, Ferencz, who was Catholic, didn't seem to be very interested. But Iulian who was orthodox, got very serious as I was sharing the Word with him. He told me he had never heard such things before and I gave him a new testament. After these evangelistic visits, we all got together as a group so we could share and pray together. Ionut went with Marius to meet Costin, a freshman. Costin is an alcoholic. We had previously talked to a group of 11 people but it was only Costin who wanted to hear more about God. Ana- Maria and Roxana went to the girls dorms. They got to meet some medical school We continue to have our family and youth Bible study. Our students are involved as well. I also continue to have the Bible study in the church on Wednesday nights and preach the Word on Sundays. Thank you very much for your desire to pray for us. We indeed have a great need of support in prayer. We thank God for the open doors we have at the university. The Lord blessed us to have the approval of the faculty for meetings in two different universities. We have two weekly meetings in two locations in each of the two universities. At the first meeting we had around sixty students, while at the other meeting we had less but they were very open and willing to hear about God. We had a very honest discussion with them. One of the students expressed his desire to meet me in a private discussion. Alex is an Orthodox, but is willing to know God. He did not know how to be saved. Yesterday I met him and shared the way to salvation. I gave him a New Testament and he said he wanted to make a decision for the Lord. Pray for him to come to Christ. Pray for Silviu, Dan, Valy and Costin to continue to have interest in our Bible studies. Pray also for Stefan who attends youth meeting in one of the churches. He graduated, but he needs salvation. We are glad for Alexandra who came to Christ and began to get involve in our ministry. Stefan is her boyfriend. Pray that God will sanctify their lives and convince them to live in purity. We are going to have a fasting and prayer weekend.. Pray that the students from Sibiu and Bacau will come and be part of this time. Pray that God will pour out his Spirit so that we will seek His face and meet the Lord in that meeting. Last night, we had a meeting on campus. We had this meeting in the same place where we had the sixty students last week. Although we had less students this time, we are always glad to have them so that they can hear about the Lord and His salvation. Last night was extremely difficult as it seemed we were in a spiritual warfare. We discussed about horoscope and two of the students were very reluctant. One student, Sebastian, who is very intelligent, is very proud. He said the Bible was a lie and its followers fanatics. The other one (Marian) was a relativist saying that all religions are good and we cannot prove that Christianity is the only true religion. With this kind of accusations, obviously the debate turned into an argument. While some of the missionaries tried to prove the truthfulness of the Bible, the two students were making fun. Actually the discussion was supposed to be on the horoscope, but it turned to be a debate about the Bible. I have rarely seen such a clash between spirits. It was so difficult to continue to talk, as they made fun and mocked what anybody else said. But at the end the Lord intervened by prompting me to say that one of the best proofs for the validity of the Bible is the change it makes in lives. I shared my testimony and the Gospel. All the students kept silent, but right when I finished, Sebastian left with a smile that suggested sarcasm. Three other girls left with him. Please pray for their salvation.
