One important thing was the evangelistic event on the occasion of Women's/ Mother's Day. The event was hosted by one of the local restaurants. We rented the place (the restaurant owner thinks highly of us and appreciates what we try to do. That is why he ask for such a small amount of money). This event was meant to be another opportunity to reach unbelieving friends and relatives. We had about 100 people attend of which 70% were not Christians. Our guest speaker was a pastor from Sudan. The miracles of God in his life along with the Bible message impacted the audience and challenged them to think about a relationship with God. He also spoke about the importance and influence of a good mother (a Christian one) upon her children. We felt God's presence there and we know He spoke to people's hearts.

As a church, we're interested in evangelistic activities because it gives us the opportunity to bring people together that we have visited at their places and who are not committed to the church. Their hearts are touched by the Lord when they come to the church. This is what happened to the mother of one of the girls that comes to the kid's programs. Last year, Camelia seemed to be very interested in the Bible.  They moved to the countryside for a while. At the beginning of the winter they moved back to Pucioasa (they have two places). Her daughter started to come to our church again and the mother, Camelia, shared with me some the experiences she had been through. It was obvious God was working in the family, especially with the daughter, Anuta. Camelia was once again challenged to get closer to God's Word when she came to our evangelistic event. The relationship between our families got better and Camelia came to church one Sunday. Her daughter had a great part in that. I believe the seed planted in Anuta's heart is also working in her mother's. Not long ago, Anuta started to take piano lessons. She brought one of her friends along to the kids group. They are all excited. God has opened another door to a new family.

There is another event I want to share with you. It's a special youth meeting where other unbelievers were invited to come. We didn't have as many as we had expected, but we had three new people attend. We had good discussions with them and were able to share the Gospel. One of them was a young lady who studied Energetics. Although she is a very hard-working person in search of the truth, she has been very misinformed by the priests. She really wanted to know things just the way they were in the Bible. I pray that Andreea will open her heart to the truth. She is new in town and interested in having friends. I recommended the spiritual family of our church. She told me it had been good for her to hear all those things. The other two young people who came that night also came to our church services. Alexandru, who is 19, told me he wanted to get closer to the Lord.

Besides the opportunities I have to share the Gospel with people I get to meet, I spend part of my time each week working with the kids (along with the youth from our church) and also with the music ministry; the orchestra and piano lessons. This is something very important because it insures a good relationship with the children's families (most are not Christians). Therefore, we have strong relationships with these families and pray that God will save them one day. I am praying and working toward that. Our main interest is obviously the kids. Our purpose is to plant the Word in their hearts so that they will not go astray when they grow up. This ministry makes us very happy as the number of kids keeps increasing.

Another time investment is the construction we started last year. After a special time of giving in our church, we were able to start working again. We believe this new building will help us with the ministry here.
