With the Lord's help I had the strength to serve Him this past month. We received a lot of gifts for children in December. We offered a gift to each child that attended regularly our biblical programs. But still we had 15 gifts left over. God guided me to give those gifts to the children whose families had become our friends over the years. So I made a list and started to make visits. I visited one family each afternoon. I had the opportunity to share the Word of God with all the families. I will share some of my experiences with you.

Istratescu Family

The husband has always been open, but his wife has been very distant and suspicious. So there was a barrier all the time between us. This time I saw a different attitude, maybe because of the gift. Naturally, we got to talk about the Word of God. I was surprised seeing how much attention the wife gave. We got to a point where the husband told me he liked the way I explained things, but he didn't need to make his peace with God. I told him, "you will understand how much you need God when you realize the gravity of your sin." So the problem is that he didn't feel guilty. Our discussion ended there. I pray that the Lord will convict his mind of sins. We continue to have a good relationship with the Istratescu family and I hope I will have other opportunities to share the Word with them.

Marinescu Family

This family has two little girls. They welcomed us. After opening the presents we started a discussion. Soon we talked about Christian subjects. They had visited the Adventist church years ago and had some knowledge of God. I noticed they had a spirit of rebellion. They said, "we went there but we didn't like it, because we don't like someone telling us what to do." I told them that an authentic Christian desires to do God's will. So if one asks that Christian to make some changes according to the Bible he would gladly accept it. It was a peaceful and constructive discussion. A few days later they visited us at home and we confirmed our relationship. They promised to come to church. I hope they will be enlightened.

Bucur Family

The grandmother, the mother and two children were at home. I told them about salvation through Christ alone. They mostly asked me a lot of questions on spiritual life. I noticed they compared the Orthodox church's tradition to the Bible. After answering their questions, the mother said she liked us because we were explaining the Bible. They agreed to meet us for further discussions.

We visited other families and shared the Word of God with them as well. My plan is to begin a Bible study at home with those who are interested. Please pray for this project.

I spent part of my time with the believers from the church. With the new believers we go through a Bible study called, I Was Born Again. What's Next? The study includes eleven fundamental lessons for a Christian.

Being the beginning of a new year I took some time to reflect on my plans for 2010 both for the local ministry and the evangelism coordination of the Heartcry missionaries.
