Eastern Europe: Reports - Romania - Reports

December is a month that provides a great opportunity to proclaim and preach the Gospel. With the Lord's help we managed to reach all our goals. We were able to organize meetings with the Romanian and foreign students. Vox Domini church that we attend helped us to organize the meeting for the foreigners. It was a great blessing. Many students came, both Romanians and foreigners and with four refugees, two men from Iraq and men from Ethiopia and Sudan. We tried to love them as the Lord Jesus does. We shared the Gospel with them. One of them (a man from Iraq) came to church as well and he was touched.

I have attached you an e-mail from an international student, Marian. I mentioned him in my previous reports. He had a car accident. This e-mail was a great encouragement for us and his Christian school-mates.

"Hi everyone!

First and foremost I would like to ask everyone to give yourself a pat on our back for the wonderful piece of team work that we had staging a beautiful presentation of our faith and conviction.

The Christmas party was indeed a great success. This has also served as an indicator of bringing into light the maturity of each one's faith.

This year's Christmas celebration has indeed turned in a lot of surprises. Many new faces, different organizing styles, new hurdles etc. As International Christian students we have been blessed to see many different cultures that do not know Jesus as their saviour. Indeed we have made a substantial portrayal of our Christianwalk of faith to our brothers of other religious beliefs. We have embarked on a journey in making ourselves different from others. But the Christian way of life doesn't depend on a mere start but an ongoing challenge until we see the culmination of the Great Commission of making Jesus known to all nations. So let us challenge ourselves to try to live the life of Jesus and show love and care to others as He as been showing us day in and day out. We once again want to thank each one of you who helped even in the slightest way to make this party not just a party alone."

THE GOSPEL'S IMPACT IS LIKE AN ATOMIC BOMB

We often write you about how God uses us in the students' lives and how they hear the Gospel and turn to the Lord. It is a wonderful ministry. Our joy is complete when we see our efforts bringing fruits for many years after the students graduate. The transformed lives and the work that God performed in Cosmin encouraged us to continue to knock at the next door in the dorm. The transformed lives are completely God's work and He asked us to be a part of it. We thank you for being a part in this ministry too.

Cosmin became a Christian during his student years. He was studying medicine when we moved to Timisoara. One day after he had watched the "Jesus" movie, he surrendered his life to Christ. He began studying the Bible in a small group which helped him to grow spiritually. I had the opportunity to be there for Cosmin when he was a student. We studied the Bible together, did evangelism and many other things.

After graduation Cosmin became a family doctor and a missionary in Ramnicu Sarat.
He moved to there because he wanted to proclaim the Gospel in villages where it had not been shared. When he and his wife moved in that small town there were only eight believers. The town has 42,000 inhabitants. Now their church has 30 believers and continues to grow. His job as a doctor and his wife's job as a teacher brought them respectable positions in town. They also managed to share Christ with others. They used a discipleship model that Cosmin learned during the college years.

EVANGELISM WITH VOX DOMINI CHURCH

The Lord used us in several areas in the mission and the church. We praise the Lord for the people from Vox Domini church who want to accompany us at least a day a month in evangelism. We started this project in May, 2009. This day became a habit in our church. This is the second Sunday of the month. We meet together, pray, and have a training and planning time. For two hours we go into the dorms. Then we come back, celebrate and pray for the people who we managed to talk with. Our target is the student dorms where there are around 15, 000 students. Please pray for consistency and fruit. We want the Lord to bring fruit from this ministry.

OUR FAMILY: A BLESSING FROM THE LORD

Our children continue to grow both physically and spiritually. We are happy to involve them in our ministry with the students.

Thank you for being there for us! Pray for health and protection for our family. We thank the Lord for the spiritual growth we see in the hearts of our children. They are both doing well in school.

PRAYER REQUESTS:

Pray for the new students to feel loved and accepted and for God to work in their hearts.
Pray that God will give us rest and renewed energy.
Pray that God will give us power when sharing the gospel.
Pray that God will meet our spiritual and material needs.
We thank you all who stand faithfully beside us in this ministry.
