Radu is a student in Brasov. He lives in dorm 10. When we had given out the magazine "Fitzuica", he had filled in a questionnaire of how he could get to know Christ personally. So we went to his place to talk to him. When we got there, he was standing in the door frame and Ionut told him: "Radu, I am bringing you some good news". He asked: "What news?" "Well, you filled in a questionnaire about how you can have a personal relationship with God" Angrily, he said: "I cannot talk about this thing just with anybody but only with an authorized person such as a priest." Then I asked him, "have you talked to a priest?" "Yes, he said. "And did he tell you that you were on the right path?" His answer shocked me. "As a matter of fact, I don't care what he said, I want to do what I want," he said. The peace Christ intended for him, came back to us. We felt chased away. Ionut, being pretty new in the faith, was completely crushed. But the prayers helped him get back on track. We visited another room where we hoped to find someone open to hear about Christ. We got into a room in dorm 10. Vali, a student from the Republic of Moldova, invited us in. He didn't seem very friendly when we started to talk about Christ. When we got to the point of speaking about sin, I said that fornication was a sin. He said he knew that, but he was not ready to acknowledge it as a problem and therefore he rejected the Gospel. We could feel the tension in the room so we thought we should leave. That was the second rejection, half an hour after the first one. We prayed and we went on visiting. We met Dan in room 127. He invited us into his room. He had a physical disability since he had been born. Ionut and I helped him carry something to his room. We were able to get to know each other because he was very friendly. We found out that he was 37 years old and was a Social Work student. We started to share the Gospel with him. He had visited other churches and was Reformed. His father had German origins. He said he had read the Bible many times, but couldn't understand it. While we were talking I discovered he was a relativist in his way of thinking. He said that for him God was what he felt. On a different occasion (we became friends) he confessed, "Alex, I've been looking for something for 10 years, but I don't know exactly what". Dan is involved in politics and is a very smart guy. He's been in contact with different politicians and yet he still doesn't feel fulfilled. He told me that a friend of his who is a company director went to a striptease club where he got drunk and did a lot of bad things. Somebody recordered him and showed that on TV. Materially speaking, this friend of his was very much fulfilled, but on the inside, he told Dan he felt very empty. He found relief in alcohol. I have just called Dan to set up a meeting so that I can talk to him about God. He said yes. He started to attend our meeting. I have also invited him to come our church. Pray that he will come. We looked for Mihai and Vlad. They had both written on the questionnaire that they wanted to know how to have a personal relationship with GOD. When we got there we met Marius too. He hadn't filled in a questionnaire but he joined our discussion. He stated that the Bible was nothing but an ordinary book written by ordinary people. He believed in an imaginary god and prays to him and everything was going well for him. He even taught others to do the same - to believe in an imaginary god. This was a difficult discussion. We had to explain to them who God truly was. I felt the Holy Spirit filling me with power when I described His greatness, holiness and love. They all got silent. Mihai, who had previously had contradictory discussions with Marius, stated, "I believe the Bible is true and that God exists for real." Toward the end of the discussion, which lasted more than two hours, Marius, with indignation, asked us, "did you come here to impose what you believe on me?" I told him that was not my business to convince him and that he needed to repent and reconcile with God. Mihai took a New Testament and Marius took a book that talked about Christ's divinity written by Josh Mcdowell. Silviu is a student in Brasov. He is originally from Buzau. He told us about his father that he was an alcoholic and that his step-sister was actually his cousin as her mother had died and her father left her. Ionut was in the room and shared the gospel with a few students. At a certain moment, Silviu came in. He was holding three new testaments. A taxi driver had given them to him. He sat right before Ionut and was listening to the Word. Then Ionut left. After a while I felt urged in my spirit to go with Ionut and visit Silviu. I told him the Gospel again. I explained to him about the law and keeping it perfectly. Silviu exclaimed "Now I understand that when I thought I was keeping the Law, I was actually breaking it". He realized he was a sinner. At that moment, Silviu made a decision to give his life to Christ. Two days later we went back to him to have a Bible study. During that time he confessed he was feeling guilty for having lied to somebody. I gave him a New Testament and he said, "I'll give it to my mother, she is living a hard life with my father. Maybe she'll read it." I was glad to hear that. He was already thinking that God could have mercy on his family. We keep having bible studies with him and are happy to see that he wants that. Pray that God will have mercy on Silviu and lead him in obedience to Him. Pray for the salvation of his family through his own testimony. We've seen that before in our ministry. I have the great joy to tell you that two students, Alexandra and Cristina, received Christ through our ministry. They come to our meetings and attended our Bible studies. Alexandra even came to church. The missionaries and the volunteers who spread the Word are very happy to see the fruit of Chris's suffering. Last year, during a student evangelistic retreat, I met Daniel. He was from Sibiu. I found out he repented and was going to get baptized. Praise be the Lord because He still works among students. There is pain in my heart to see so many university cities where students cannot hear about Christ. Some of these places are Craiova, Pitesti, Constanta, Galati, Alba Iulia, Arad, and Suceava. We used to have student ministries there as well but no longer meet. Pray that God will bring workers in His mission field! I continue to serve in my church and family, work with the youth, preach the Word and work with the people that are to be baptized.
