We had a baptismal service in October. By the Lord's grace it was a great opportunity to proclaim the Gospel. Four young people were baptized, two boys and two girls. There were around 70 people (we have only 40 seats in the church). There were colleagues, friends, family members and close acquaintances. Only one candidate's family was Christian. Three of the candidates came to church from non-Christian families through VBS or other evangelistic events. All four candidates shared their testimonies in front of the church. We had several moving moments when we all saw the Lord's ministry in hearts. I want to share with you the testimony of one of the girls:

My name is Oana O. and I am 17 years old. I attend high school in town. The Lord was good to me and I know he has a plan for my life. Since I was born a premie the doctors didn't give me any chances of survival. However, after two months in an incubator the doctors said I would live. It was a hard time for my parents, but I know now that God was in control. He was gracious to me. When I was six or seven years old the Lord brought a group of believers into my life. They held Bible School meetings in my neighborhood and I went there with some of my friends.  I enjoyed everything there so much that I wanted to come again, but my friends gave up shortly after that. I continued to go to this program. When I would attend I felt like we were a family as I felt loved. I didn't want to separate from these people anymore. After a while I understood God's love for me. Many times I made the decision to be more faithful, to read the Bible more, and to change my life. Although many sermons had an impact on me, I wasn't sure I was saved. I think I was a religious person.

Things changed a year ago because in the summer of 2008 God touched me through a discussion with our pastor in a youth meeting. I was afraid for my soul and asked God to save me. I think God brought that blessed moment into my life. I knew that he delivered me from my fears of death and hell. He delivered me from my sins. He put his love and the desire to be pleasant unto him in my heart. Now I know I am saved. All I want is to serve him all my life. Today I want to testify to this transformation.

As a church we proclaimed the Gospel at two other events, the Harvest Celebration in Pucioasa and Magura. There were non-Christian people who heard the Word. One family in Magura was especially touched by the Lord. They were invite by an old lady from the church. Their daughter asked the lady from the church how she could become a Christian. We are praying for them. May the Lord give them salvation. Another boy who came to this event is Mirel, the nephew of a family from the church. He decided to come to church each Sunday. After Mirel received a New Testament, he started reading it.

We continue to meet with Florin and Cerasela. I wonder when the Lord will give them salvation. They are always glad to hear the Word, but they have not made a decision yet.
