By God's grace we managed to participate in two evangelistic projects. The first was in Fieni and Runcu and the second was in Stoenesti where George S. serves as a missionary.

Fieni

This month a team of ten young people from Holy Trinity Church in Bucharest came to help us. Our desire was to distribute literature in a large village next to Fieni called Runcu. This village has over 5000 inhabitants. We distributed two CDs. The first, Christianity and the Scriptures, is a documentary on biblical truths in relation to orthodox traditions. The second audio CD is the testimony of a folk singer who turned to the Lord. We also gave brochures with the good news and flyers with the address and schedule of the church. We left these materials at each front gate where people were open to discuss the Word of God with them. The volunteers were encouraged because they were able to share the Gospel many times. One family from Runcu was open and invited us to come back. Therefore, the following week we went to visit them again. We shared the Word of God and answered their questions. After inviting them to church,  the father and two of his children came the following Sunday. Although he was open and enjoyed the program, he didn't make a decision. We hope that the Lord will work in this family and save them.

We have a two-fold purpose in distributing materials. We want to sow the seed of the Gospel where no one has before and hopefully find people that have heard about Jesus in the past. Perhaps they will be prepared for salvation.

We prepared this project in the spring and wanted to cover our entire area. Through the Lord's help we hope to put Christian materials in each house from our area. We want them to know that there is a church that preaches and believes the Bible.

Evangelism in Stoenesti Village, Olt County

With the Lord's help we started the evangelistic project again with the HeartCry missionaries. The team included missionaries from Oltenia, Fieni and Pitulicea. We went to Stoenesti, Comani and Draganesti. For two days we went out on the streets of these villages. There are around 20,000 villagers. We talked to people, shared the Gospel and distributed brochures and invitations to the church. Although these people consider themselves to be Christians, they are actually pagans and have no fear of God. They consider us as heretics. I spoke with three men that were sitting at a front gate. One of them was open, another disliked us, and the third one wanted to quit smoking. He desired to come to church only for God to help him overcome his habit. The one who disliked us said that God was unjust. "Why does He allow some people to sin and He doesn't punish them?"  Just before that he had told me that he had committed fornication with many women from that village. So I answered him, "Why didn't God send a stone from the sky to hit you when you were committing fornication with another man's wife?" He was so ashamed. After that I explained to them why God had mercy on sinners and urged them to repent and believe in the Lord Jesus. After this project we all felt great joy in proclaiming the Gospel. As usual, the rest of the time was spent finishing the church and visiting people. I visited people from the church and other people who are open to know God.

We started to build the foundation for the fence on the left side of the church. Afterward, we brought a truck of gravel and spread it over the backyard of the church. Now there will be no more mud. It is very beautiful. We would like the non-believers to see that we are interested in making the church a pleasant place. We want this thing to bring glory to God.

Another part of the time was used to visit several people from the church. I encouraged them to stay close to the Lord and serve Him more.
