The Lord gave us the opportunity to work in His vineyard for another month and to rejoice over the fruit of our work.

We continued the weekly activities of pastoral visits for the edification of the members, the training meetings with the volunteers, the choir and orchestra rehersals, and the children ministry in Pucioasa, Magura, Vulcana and Varfuri.

I want to share with you some challenges that the Lord gave me this month. As I have already written you, God opened a door for the Gospel in Varfuri. We started a VBS. There were around 35 children and God used them for many others to hear the Gospel. For two months now we have visited the children's families. We have given them a New Testament and urged them to believe in the sacrifice of the Lord Jesus. We were surprised to see how God blessed the hearts of those who listened to us.

Let me share with you two testimonies from the evangelistic visits of this month:

Georgiana was one of the girls who attended VBS. When we visited her at home, her mother Mihaela warmly received us. She knew everything about us and was so excited about what we taught the children. She was interested in the Gospel and wanted to visit our church in Pucioasa. She told us that she was a teacher in a kinder garden in a small school. She asked us to come and talk to the children. After a while I went there with a team. There were twenty two children that we were able to share Jesus' love with. We sang songs and then told them the story of Zacchaeus. We shared that some people were ready to do anything to know Jesus like Zacchaeus, while others were indifferent. We told them about the joy of Christ. There were also five teachers. We emphasized the need for salvation and Jesus' commandment for the adults ("Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me..."). At the end we saw that God had touched these people. They were so glad to hear what we shared. We gave them the books "Andi" (this is a project for children to receive illustrated Bibles). We scheduled two more meetings before Christmas. These meetings were necessary for them to receive the Bibles.

From VBS to the parents and from the parents to the school, we see God's will in spreading the Gospel. We pray that the Lord will save Mihaela, the other teachers and the parents who received New Testaments.

We visited Denis, a seventh grade boy. It was another evangelistic visit where we felt God's presence in a special way. I went there with Alexandru, my coworker, and Alina, a seventh grade girl that offered to help us find the children's families. Everyone needs help in Varfuri. We received a special welcome from Mari, Denis' mother.  Many thoughts had been weighing on her concerning eternal life, repentance, and the need of change in her life. I preached Christ to her. I hope that she will be a Lydia from Thyatira in Varfuri. She was very glad when we gave her a Bible and asked us if we could begin a Bible study group with adults. She was like the man of Macedonia in Paul's dream who asked for help. We want to do God's will. We believe that the Lord wants to bless this village with the salvation of souls.

Besides these testimonies I have had several meetings for teaching basic doctrines. Four people will be baptized in October. We pray that this event will be an opportunity for the unsaved to hear the Gospel. Only one of the four people has come from a Christian family. Each candidate for baptism is an expression of God's mercy.
